Mayer Gallego and City Council Members. Thank you for your support of the Arts during this critical time. There are thousands of artists of all kinds in our state who enrich our lives, teach our children, comfort our sick and elderly and bring joy and solace to all. Many of them piece together a fragile living as performers, teachers, support workers, and hundreds of other ways. Please support funding for the arts by committing $2,000,000 in relief funds to keep our city vibrant and alive.
On behalf of the Board, 101 employees, and the 380,000+ children and families that learn and grow at the Children's Museum every year - I ask for the support of the Mayor and Council for Phoenix arts & culture organizations that have been devastated by the closures caused by COVID-19. Just like ALL small businesses in our community, we are desperate for assistance. The City's quality of life and long-term success is intrinsically linked to our survival - please include us in the relief!
Mayor Gallego and City Council Members, thank you for your support of the arts community by committing to $2 million in relief funds to arts organizations and artists who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. As the Executive Director of Roosevelt Row CDC, it is critical that the art and culture of the City of Phoenix be protected so at the end of this period of history our communities have places to thrive and feel human again.
Mayor Gallego & Council Members: Thank you for committing to $2 million in relief funds to arts organizations and artists impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Arts and culture represent over 13,000 local jobs in and contribute over $400 million annually to our city. This pandemic has devastated arts programs. In troubling times such as these, the arts help lift spirits and define who we are. These funds provide greatly needed relief. Mark Robert Gordon, Board Member, Friends of Phoenix Public Arts

Thank you for supporting the arts organizations with $2million. I strongly encourage you all to do more. We will not have an economy attractive to business and talent if we let any of our arts & culture organizations perish.

Thank you to Mayor Gallego and City Council for including $2M in CARES funding for the Arts & Culture sector. As an art gallery owner in Phoenix I see the devastation to our community caused by the suspension of arts programming. Nonprofit organizations are in the best position to move the arts forward and get Phoenix back to being a vital arts community. Expediting the distribution of funds to the sector is crucial to that success.
Dear Mayor & Members of Council, Wearing several hats (like we all do!), I'm adding my support for the proposed Arts & Culture Coronavirus Relief Fund. While artists themselves would probably cringe at being called an industry, AZ arts & culture contributes $9B to our state’s economy and employs 90,000 Arizonans earning a combined $4.9B in FY15. The arts contributes more to our economy than mining, agriculture & forestry combined. In these turbulent times, they deserve our support as well.
