Good afternoon I am a member of UNITEHERE Local 11 I have been furloughed from SSP. Covid has created financial and health concerns..I am personally high risk classified. SSP will re open and I fear we will be forced to return..Federal funding and health insurance will run out in July. Please consider relief for hospitality workers and provide a policy to protect us. Thank you.
The airport companies need rent relief to get us back and working because without rent they have no building for us to work in. we are the back bone of these companies we the hands that is behind making all the food. we should not have our health insurance taken away. It is not right a lot of people myself included have a lot of underlying health conditions that either rely on treatments or medications. I have asthma and without my health insurance an inhaler will cost me about $400.00 a month.
I operate the McDonald's in terminal 4 at Sky Harbor. We have stayed open throughout the pandemic, providing full employment, telemedicine, PPE for our employees and fresh, safe, hot food for travelers and airport employees. Our sales have been down 70-80%. Covering our expenses and re-opening will require relief from you. Please recognize us now as the good partners, local owners, and ACDBE operators you committed to and who now need you to vote to assist us in this unprecedented time.
Rick Anderson small business ACDBE operator for la Madeleine Sky Harbor N4 Concourse. We have been closed due to the Covid virus and have no business. We have fixed expenses that continue to go on with no income to pay them. We need support and assistance to try and continue on with our business and welcome a decision to support item #67 so that we can move forward. We are a small business and are treading water at this time and trying to keep our head above water.
I am a member of Unite Here Local 11 and I work at the Renaissance in dt phoenix. I am very worried about what will happen come July when extra 600 from the federal government runs out. Unemployment is the only sources of income I have right now. I know the state is now completely open and my employer is weighing when to reopen. I want to return to work, but I am also very scared about getting sick. I don't want to have to be forced to chose financial stability and putting my health at risk.
I support the work of Unite Here Local 11 and I believe that employers should have plans in place to ensure the safety of their employees before asking them to return to work.
I am a member of Unite Here local 11 and I work at the Sheraton in dt phoenix. I am stuck between fear of returning to work and worry about not returning and losing my health insurance. I want my employer to have a plan and protective equipment ready before I return to work.
