This is a critical moment for the Phoenix City Council to be on the right side of history. You MUST fund OAT and CRB with $3 million. The City of Phoenix also needs to reallocate their $25 million budget increase to mental health and youth programs, INSTEAD OF cutting those programs by 25%.

I pray that the City Council and the Mayor to do the right thing. Today is World Civility Day, a proclamation signed by the City of Phoenix Mayor. We need our 9-1-1, EMSA, Fire, and Police. We need the rule of law- defunding only will increase more violence and more deaths. Last night fire downtown is an example. Had they not responded, more buildings would have been burned down. Is that the fate of our City- we need the Police Academy to be reformed. Look at how you are training your officers.

Prioritize community safety for everyone. Make community development the budget priority, not police salaries. Take the proposed public safety budget increase and invest in community housing, education, youth programs, mental health resources, etc.

Fund the community and not police salaries and pensions (with no civilian oversight or voter/taxpayer accountability). We are in a once in a lifetime pandemic for goodness sake. This budget is completely tone deaf. Stop letting unelected officials (CITY MANAGER I AM LOOKING AT YOU) preen and complain about having to re-work some numbers. It's his JOB. He made over $315,000 in salary in 2018, stop the complaints. He's not willing to take a paycut but can choke off community investment, SHAME

I strongly oppose the proposed $944,680,555 budget for the public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community is asking that you instead increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. We must prioritize healing and growth in our community over further militarization of our police force. It's time to focus on sustainable communities, justice, and dismantling systematic oppression and police brutality.

Do not defund the Phoenix police departments budget. We need those policemen to protect us. 99.9 percent of them are great officers that care about everyone. Step into their shoes just one day. Make sure in all of your decisions you make this day. You keep this city great

Do not fund the Accountability Oversight of the Police department. This was a bad political, partisan attack on the police and their job of maintaining law and order in Phoenix.
Cooperate fully with the PPD and their work with ICE in ridding our state of criminal, and illegal people coming into our country across the Arizona boarder.
Do not rob the police fund of 25% of its necessary budget. We need, want and deserve the best police force.
We do not want to look like or be like Minneapolis.

Do NOT defund the Phoenix Police Department. That funding goes towards the training and equipment necessary for our officers to do their jobs. The department needs those funds for the things you and the residents of Phx have asked for. You want better training but you want to cut their funding. You want cameras, well that costs money and you don’t want to give the budget for that either. You can’t have it both ways. Please vote to KEEP the funding they've requested to better serve OUR City.

G4987 S31877 and G3696 are all voter directed funding public safety and neighborhoods. I’m respectfully requesting a detailed audit of these. I support adoption of the reappropriated funds

    1) fund the Office of Accountability and Transparency with 2.6 million dollars from the police budget.
    2) stop transferring folks from Phoenix PD to ICE for deportation
    3) move 25% of the Phoenix PD budget into community services like affordable housing, education, and social service programs.

Do NOT cut police funding - DO NOT spend $2.5 Million for OAT out of this budget. We're the 5th largest city in USA - yet we're almost 40th in police per captia. We're losing officers, we can't hire officers now - not enough funding. Who is going to protect our residents - the protesters- the rioters?? We have police precincts that do not have facilities for female officers, police headquarters that is mold infested at times, .Cut funds = no police officers = no protection for residents....

Fund the police! Any funding taken from the police will have a negative effect on our community.
