I am asking that you oppose this item. I spoke @ the Cty Cncil mtg in March (way before COVID struck) asking you to refrain forcing the residents of Deck Park out. I brought my 90yo friend Rosie Trottle that lives @ Deck Park too and she pleaded and begged you not to put her & her blind husband out. I am doing the same. At least table this item until the virus is gone. I know it’s easy to choose something when you’re not affected. Please think of them as one of your family members that you love.

Shame on you that vote to support demolishing this facility. Kicking/Forcing the veterans and seniors at this facility to move to a location they are not comfortable with is horrible. And your vote is all about money. Isn’t stealing from Peter to pay Paul and raising City service rates while reducing City services enough with this growing City? And if it’s not, it shows your lack of simple budgeting needs work. YOUR JOB IS TO LOOK OUT FOR THE PEOPLE. IT’S NOT TO THROW THEM OUT OF THEIR HOME.

I strongly oppose this. It's a terrible plan. I can't believe you'd be doing this at the peak of covid and not postponing this for at least a year or 2. Trying to add more senior units to the property, making sure the residents could attend since you all know they don't have internet or computers! You all sold your soul to the devil! None of you that vote this in are fit to serve. You should be ashamed of yourselves having zero regard for human life and safety!

I'm a veteran, disabled and resident who's traumatized by the thought of the Mayor I voted for wants to throw me and my neighbors out of our home like trash. We'll be homeless add to the majority of homeless seniors, because the City is so selfish they think they can re-home us to roach infested crime ghetto apartments no where near my home. You intentionally have this at covid peak and ignored thousands of calls to oppose this. At least give us section 8 so we can find our own apt that's safe.

It is terrible timing during the COVID19 crisis to cause additional unnecessary stress to seniors living at Deck Park Vista Apartments. These seniors do not want to move from their neighborhood. They must have a safe place to live. The City of Phoenix has not posted their FAQ publicly online as to the plan to look after our seniors who are especially vulnerable to COVID19. The current plan makes the residents feel like they are being left behind during a vulnerable time.

I oppose this. I'm 90 years old and my husband is blind. We don't want to move out of our home. We called the Mayor and City Council and I came to a meeting to tell you don't throw me out of my home. The Lord doesn't want this. We can't move into any of those apartments and need to stay in this area. I can't stop crying and this ain't right. I praise the Lord you don't do this to us, because I don't think we could make a move at our age. Our church wanted to come to support our people But Covid

I oppose and so does my auntie and her friends that live in deck park. They're vulnerable seniors and don't use smart phones or computers. If this was in person as planned, they'd show up along with their church friends and community. The ACLU wanted to come. Underminding everyone is unethical business practices. Throwing grandparents great-grandparents handicapped veterans out of their homes to slums across town like trash. How can you live with yourselves Postpone this. Stop ignoring calls em

It amazes me that you couldn't wait until covid settles down to do this. I live in the neighborhood. The seniors are quiet and lovely. This neighborhood is not meant for children, it's too dangerous with drugs and crime, not having enough police in PHX to patrol which you need to fix. This is a horrible plan. Add to the property with more affordable senior housing. That's what the area needs. Stop harassing and tormenting these vulnerable people let them live in peace.

I simply think this is a bad idea. As a senior I know that things are hared enough without somebody trying to remove you from your home !!!!

I oppose this. The building shouldn't be torn down. You can add more senior units. You all seem to hate Police and seniors, especially of color. You all ignored all the calls and emails months ago, to stop this. Who pays your salary? Tax payers right! So your okay to just throw us out and we just die. Tells us to move to the ghetto. Put us on section 8 so of we get thrown out to the streets we can find something safe. We're tired of your threats and intimidation.

I oppose. For fear of retaliation, I choose not to use my name. I'm in my 80s and was never told the building could be demolished when they took my money and signed my lease. This is fraud and the did this to others. The trauma I've been enduring is indescribable. I didn't just move in to be thrown out at my age. I have medical issues and have been to the hospital once because of this unnecessary stress. I moved in to stay, not to be thrown out to ghetto apartments. I vote NO. Shame on you.

I'm a resident and I've made it clear I don't want to move from my home. I'm a senior with medical issues and a veteran. We have several veterans here that are being traumatized by being threatened on a regular basis, treated like trash that the City want to throw out to make a fast buck. We are human beings. Carlos Garcia is a jerk and doesn't care about his district. Mayor, you don't care about human life. What you're trying to do is despicable . It's a slap in my face from serving my country.

My friend is studying abroad so I've been checking on her Grandmother lives there. Anyone who would consider throwing these seniors out of their hm and demolishing their building is worse than Satan. I oppose this and you need to leave these poor people alone and stop harassing them. To anyone reading this, they are lying about putting them in secure apts in a good neighborhood. They don't care if they die and I think that's what theyd like it. I agree about putting them on section 8 now.

I've contacted Phoenix City Council members and Mayor's office opposing this disaster, tearing down vulnerable low income seniors and veterans home lying about putting them in comparable apartments all lies. I like the request to put the ones that need section 8 now , on section 8 so if the lack of compassion approves their home being destroyed, they can go anywhere they want. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for this.

I strongly oppose this! Demolishing a low income senior apartments with veterans & Seniors is dispecable ! My great Aunt lives here and she's called the mayor and city council ppl, and her elderly voice isn't being heard. Shes not a puppy you can re-home to a crap neighborhood! Shame on all of you. Stop lying to the Public. The apts given are horrible choices to move to. Put them on section 8 let them move where they want so they can be safe near drs.

I disagree with demolishing Deck Park Vista Low Income Senior Apartments. I'm one of thousands of people who called and emailed protests this to happen, and it's despicable that our voices & the voices of the senior residents, neighborhood have gone unheard. You can't just throw seniors out of there homes like pieces of trash. None of them want to move to Maryvale or crime ridden apartments not even close to comparable to the homes they have. Shame on all of you. Find another area to build.
