I currently serve as the chair for Phoenix PD's African American Advisory Board and the majority of our efforts are intended "to
promote racial sensitivity, social justice, and the elimination of inequities at all city touch-points within the community." Those efforts are not covered under the department's capital budget so we are currently forced to come out of our own pockets to fund these activities. I'm certain that us and the eleven other boards could make excellent use of these funds.
