I support. I don't favor whitewashing, but we do need to reconsider who we honor with street names and statues as our understanding of history evolves.

The City Council has significantly underestimated costs associated for owners on renamed streets. Personally can think of over 20 items that need to be updated: DMV, Utilities, Titles, Legal documents, etc... All takes extensive time & money to change. Seniors, disabled & others will need help with process not just a list of where to go online (most seniors are not computer savvy or own a computer). Will owners receive mail labeled with old street name after name change & for how long?

We shpuld not have a street named after a Confederate general. Period.

I fully support the renaming of streets honoring individuals who supported a reality where chattel slavery persists. Let’s make some change. - Jacob Raiford, W.E. Rising
