The people in this community are demanding a reduction in funding to the ineffective Phoenix Police Department and this demand is not being met. PPD has failed to uphold their oath to protect and serve all citizens of Phoenix and therefore the people demand a reduction of funds and an increase in civilian oversight to increase accountability and clear the corruption within the organization.

People have been begging you to give less money to the police, to put it in community supported problems and what is this budget? almost half of the money going to the police. What do they do that is so much more important and costly than community enrichment and development? When will the people in the community matter to you as much as so-called "law and order"?

I oppose giving anymore funding to our ill equipt Phoenix police department so they can continue to harm our communities. Funding should go to behavioral health teams that are skilled at DE ESCALATING situations unlike our police. We need to support mental health, homelessness & the minorities like my self in our city. We need an INDEPENDENT org to investigate officers & a database where you can find all officer records. The PPD has proven they are unable to uphold their responsibilities. DEFUND

This is completely unacceptable and will not fly with the citizens of Phoenix. It is careless and tiring to see you all continue to spend more money on police in Arizona when we’re all shouting at you to defund them. If your civilian oversight policy doesn’t have independent investigations and community participation in the policy writing, we’re against it! Stop trying to force police in positions that you deem fit. Something is NOT better than nothing when our lives are on the line.
