If the existing system of liability claims was working to bring justice for people being politically prosecuted, we wouldn’t be here demanding reparations. When the most violent police department in the country is colluding with the prosecutor’s office to ruin your life and throw you in prison for decades, how can you be expected to feel safe filing a claim about that kind of harm, under that kind of legal pressure? No. REPARATIONS must be paid, and you need to make that happen. Do your job.

Kate Gallego, Phoenix City Council, Phoenix Police and Officer Jason Gillespie have absolutely no regard for my life. He almost killed me with his bare hands over calling the police for help after accusing me of trespassing and in dereliction of his duty never investigated why I called. They have fought my case with Kathleen Wieneke, Wieneke Law for almost 7 years. They do everything to cover for these violent corrupt cops rather than do the right thing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VUDnkB_SDcU

When the most violent police department in the country is colluding with the prosecutor’s office to ruin your life and throw you in prison for decades, how can you really be expected to feel safe filing a claim about that kind of harm, under that kind of legal pressure? No.REPARATIONS must be paid and you need to make that happen.Do your job.

    A) Since ABC15's Politically Charged series, the police has faced four "outside" reviews for their misconduct. These have been ineffective because of these reviewers ties to the police. Police cannot police themselves. This is why we haven't seen lasting change.
    B) I know people who have lost their personal property (phones, wallets) because PPD calls it "evidence." I know others who have lost their jobs. You owe them compensation because you continue to stick up for PPD
    C) See B.
    D) Cops lie.

Carlos Betty Deb Thelda, you all sat in and heard all this. You know why it matters, and what needs to happen. What questions are you gonna ask to move the petitions forward? Do you support justice or police who lie and celebrate violence? Do you support victims being compensated, or condone PPD? Whose side are you on? The whole world is watching. Do better. Get on the right side of history and support directly impacted leadership.

We are working way harder than any of you to make sure life and death topics are addressed on the agenda. It is your job to represent the public. It is your job to push back against the idea that there isn’t enough evidence to hold PPD accountable for their endless violence. You all should be pushing back against the reports coming from City Management. This shows your lack of support for true community safety and how little you value Black lives. We see you.

Unconscionable that we even had to create these petitions. Everything in them should have been addressed by you without prompting. Even the mainstream media has made so obvious what we have been saying all along--as they were designed to do, police are intentionally killing, caging, and silencing Black people. Why did we have to beg to even get these demands heard, and even when we begged, only a handful were deemed worth your time? It is YOUR JOB to address these demands! Do YOUR JOB.

Carlos Betty Deb Thelda, thank you for hearing us out. It seems that you now understand why we have continued to pressure the council and what needs to happen. Pleasure pressure your fellow council members to push the petitions forward. Please represent and support the citizens of Phoenix and support directly impacted leadership who have personally suffered at the hands of this corrupt and violent police force.
