Sunnyslope does not need another shelter. CBI has not engaged with the community or leaders regarding plans for this shelter. The City of Phoenix continues to make decisions that are tearing down mature neighborhoods with little regard to the residents, many who have lived there for decades. Additionally, these decisions are alienating neighborhood leaders trying to preserve quality of life. Please reconsider the timeline for CBI's shelter and make a decision best for all stakeholders.

I am a resident and business owner in Sunnyslope for the last 21 years. Also a community advocate and a member of the Homelessness Task Force. We have +20 services (half way homes, sober living homes, transitional housing etc) in Sunnyslope. Our community is saturated with these services.Dining Hall on Hatcher has exacerbated the homelessness problem and inspite of zillions of service providers we have not been able to clean up a street that has over 200 businesses. No more Shelters in Sunnyslope.

Until CBI can do ANYTHING right, do not allow them to do this. They have not reached out to the community in any way. For this to be a success, that engagement needs to happen. Sunnyslope DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER SHELTER. The over-saturation of this area is already destroying Sunnyslope. This would BURY it. Go further north. It is not right that all of these shelters be in one area, it will just be another madison street nightmare.

My family's business has been in Sunnyslope for 46 years and are VERY engaged in the community and revitalization of our area. WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER SHELTER IN SUNNYSLOPE! CBI has had NO engagement with our community or leaders on a shelter. And we DEFINITELY do NOT need another day shelter/services.
With only 30 days left to identify a property, we need the City to reconsider the timeline for CBI's shelter. This needs to be DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Too many services here already!

I am fourth generation native. My family has lived in the Sunnyslope area since the 1950's. I am neighborhood leader involved in all areas of Phoenix. There has been zero outreach from CBI wanting to build a shelter in Sunnyslope. Stop the process for CBI to build a low barrier shelter in Sunnyslope. Sunnyslope does NOT need a low barrier shelter. Sunnyslope needs more low income and work force housing. We already have one non profit with zero accountability we don't need two.
