Our county island is made up of R-43 parcels that separate and differentiate us from the huge boom in multi housing that’s popping up all around us. There’s a huge move by investors targeting and destroying our county island. I’ve been notified that even the county can’t protect its county islands. As taxpayers and voters, our voices should be heard and the character of our family homes and land should be protected. Our livelihoods are being sacrificed for monetary gain disguised as opportunity

Over the years we relied upon the DVPC reports that R-43 zoning would left intact with 19th Ave being a border. We are a very small CI (in land size) so it is critical that our zoning remain. The Union Park Development should be as close as ANY high density zoning should come to our small piece of Rural properties. We know there is a need for housing, and hopefully houses will be built on these vacant properties, but in a way that coincides with the existing R-43 that is ALREADY in place.
