As a business owner on Hatcher and a resident of Sunnyslope, I completely support the Hatcher Safety Plan. It is good for residents and businesses and will be a step in the right direction for a safe and vibrant community.

As a new business owner on Hatcher Road, I support this plan. We are trying to improve amenities to better serve current residents and attract others to Sunnyslope. Safety and crime is the number one concern.

I support this plan as well as the 27th Ave. plan. We don't have enough police resources and we need to find ways to improve the efficiency of policing while keeping our officers safe. This plan will help to do that, and we urge you to approve this plan for Sunnyslope. The community has worked tirelessly to create a vibrant business area and deserve the support of the city.

As a member of the Violence Impact Project Coalition leadership team, we support this plan for the same reasons we support the Community Safety Plan for 27th Ave. Our communities are being severely impacted by the drugs and related crimes. We don't have enough police resources and we need to find ways to improve the efficiency of policing while keeping our officers safe. This plan will help to do that, and we urge you to approve this plan for Sunnyslope.

As a Sunnyslope business for over 50 years and 34 years on Hatcher, we support this plan and appreciate future resources added.
Intervention and enforcement are necessary to deter drug deals, encampments, blight, and hot spots. Daily and weekly proactive efforts will help keep these growing problems from continuing to fester. These problematic issues have a negative impact on our children, homeowners, and business community and this is not the growth we want for the Hatcher corridor.

Residents and visitors to our area would like to support our local businesses on Hatcher Rd, however the current conditions of blight scare those buyers away. I support the Hatcher Road Community Safety Plan. The plan will ensure public health standards are met., while supporting those in need. This allocation will ensure that the City staff will lead with services and create a safe environment for all. Especially the children who live at the apartments on Hatcher Rd and must walk to school.

Thanks for taking action to clean up this area. Please do the same supporting the Madison Pioneer neighborhood at the Human Service Campus and Andre House at 11th Ave. Crime is out of control. Gangs have taken over extorting the homeless to have tents in the area. These tents are blocking sidewalks and access to businesses. The HSC does not provide sufficient street clean-up or toilet facilities. Can't the COP find an empty lot to relocate those living in tents to a more humane setting?

As a leader at St Vincent de Paul, I support this plan & allocated funding to cleaning & safety needs. We work with our guests & staff to try to keep the area around our dining room clean, but I know we can all do better together. The need has increased so tremendously over the past few months and years, and the community cannot keep up with the need. This type of safety plan and resources, together with additional partnership efforts, will move forward the vision of a safer community for all.

It is about time we do something to clean up this area. Businesses and residents both are negatively affected by the amount of transients, drug dealing and unkept streets are a constant thorn in this community's side.

We are business owners on Hatcher Rd and live nearby, and we have been directly affected by the increase in criminal & drug activity along Hatcher over the past few years. Our employees do not feel safe being at our business in the evenings or walking to their car alone. While there needs to be a balance between humane solutions and community safety, if the issue is not addressed business and residents will be forced to move to other locations in order to feel safe. We fully support this plan.

I 100% support the Hatcher Safety Plan. My family has lived in Sunnyslope for the past 62 years. The criminal transients involved in drug dealing and doing has exponentially risen in the past five years. We have three major grade schools in the area and we need to keep our children, seniors and our police officers safe. Now is the time to make a difference in all of these children's lives. The trauma these children experience every day affects their lives forever

I am a board member of the North Mountain Business Alliance and I am in support of this Community Safety Plan. The Hatcher Road businesses have been negatively impacted by crime and blight in their business corridor. We see hope to see this attention to the area bring about safe working environments for their area as well as the surrounding community. The needs of property owners and businesses need to be addressed and we are thankful for this plan to serve the community.

Hatcher Road Community Safety Plan deserves our support. I work with our homeless community providing street outreach and engagement. While the Hatcher corridor directs most of the visible concerns for Sunnyslope we have to work towards developing resources that impact public safety, health and community. We need to bring a greater emphasis of Outreach and Engagement offering them help. We need to provide more resources to provide incentive for our them to participate in the change as well.

As a community TNR volunteer who frequently visits Altered Tails on Hatcher in the early morning hours, I have seen firsthand how bad things have gotten in this area over the last few years. I fully support funding a fulltime civilian position to oversee - and more funding for - cleanups, homeless resource outreach, and public safety enforcement. There needs to be a balance between humane solutions and community safety, and this item meets that need. In fact, efforts should be tripled.

Our family has owned property and had our business on Hatcher Road for 33 of our 46 years in business. We are very involved in the community endeavors in Sunnyslope. The encampments and drugs have escalated in the few years on Hatcher. Our family is in full support of this line item / the clean ups / case management / increased law enforcement / outreach. It vital to also increase the budget with EFFECTIVE outreach solutions along Hatcher as well - without that, daily cleanups are needed.

My family owns property and I run their business on Hatcher Rd. We have dealt with encampments nearly daily for a few years now. This area is so centrally located and diverse, I know with the support of the city and an increased budget we can thrive in this area and bring in more businesses. Thank you!

I am a resident of Sunnyslope and business owner on Hatcher . Drugs and encampments have increased on the Hatcher corridor over the last 5 years. Daily clean -ups, case management and law enforcement are the need of the hour. I would urge you to approve this line item, however, it is important that we increase the budget to include the change of clean-up frequency from weekly to daily along with other technological interventions. Thank you!

My nephew owns property along Hatcher and has had to take numerous precautions to prevent property loss. He would appreciate the support and monitoring which would be added. Thank You
