Our city parks are being taken over by the "open air drug markets" and are only going to increase with our beautiful winter weather, the increasing use of fentanyl being brought in with our open borders and the ever increasing population in Maricopa county. The PPD is over worked, underfunded, understaffed and therefore, why not try a pilot program as doing nothing is obviously not going to help protect our community parks.

You cannot keep criminalizing our unsheltered community through private policing, they need resources.
Less money for police, more money for community VOTE NO

I urge you to support the security pilot program for Phoenix parks. For all our at-risk parks in general and in particular, Cortez Park. This park is at times an eyesore because of trash, needles, and garbage left behind by those who have no respect for it. Families should be able to use this facility without fear. People (some with nefarious intent) gather at this park both during daytime hours and after hours. Please fund the program to provide additional additional security.

We have a problem with homeless and drug dealing in our parks. Adding security guards overnight will not solve the problem. It will only add to the workload of police. We need to provide programs that activate parks which are proven ways to deter negative behavior in parks and we need to add to our park ranger force who actually have authority to enforce the city codes in parks. The park rangers need to start writing citations for blatant violations of city code and the code of conduct.

To Mayor and City Council, I respectfully request your support for the security pilot program at Pierce and Perry Parks. Having security at both parks will provide safety for surrounding neighborhoods and reduce drug trafficking and occupation of the areas 24/7. It is critically important to protect students ages 5-11 at an educational facility that is negatively impacted on a daily basis by the activities at both parks. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to express my support for the security pilot program at both Pierce and Perry Parks. Pierce Park is overrun with drug activities at all hours of the day and night. They set up canopies and tents. There is trash and drug paraphernalia everywhere and I’m constantly concerned my dogs are going to step in or ingest something while on a walk. It would be great to be able to enjoy meeting friends and neighbors at the park without seeing people urinate on the walls of our community.

I would like to express my support for the park ranger security program at both Pierce and Perry Parks. Perry Park is unusable and if the problems there are not taken care of, people will move to the next nearest park, Pierce. It is important to nip problems in the bud before letting them fester. The south Arcadia neighborhood is walkable and we would like to keep it that way by having park security assist the park rangers in enforcing park code of conduct.

I support the pilot program in District 8 for Pierce and Perry Parks. The ramadas at Pierce are taken over all day and night, open drug scenes are prevalent, some have no regard for shared public space. Neighbors are intimidated to use parts of the park.
As neighbors, we are entitled to equal protection and rights. Both Pierce and Perry need additional security, because the bad behavior travels back and forth between them.
If you don’t live near these parks, you can’t understand the need.
