As a resident of Oakland neighborhood just north of the human services campus, I know of the importance of the services that are provided by shelter services and the dramatic need to provide more options throughout the city. Services should be available citywide and not concentrated in a singular neighborhood where people have to travel great distances for help and where we naturally get overwhelmed by the needs of America's fifth largest city.
