We must continue to invest in building community involvement in park programming and operation. The parks are a critical neighborhood asset....we need to find more and better ways to engage our youth and improve community health. We urge the Mayor and Council to continue these efforts. Our children and grandchildren will thank you.

Rather than illegal and negative activities in our parks, this additional park activation opportunity will allow neighborhoods to decide the activities in their park.

Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting, and the Outdoors supports item #7. Accessible parks and green spaces contribute to the health & wellness of surrounding communities as they are used for exercise, sports, & community/cultural events. Neighborhoods with a large portion of low-income or minority residents are statistically less likely to have access to green spaces or quality parks, contributing to social inequity in Phoenix. Parks contribute to healthier, safer, and equitable neighborhoods.

Illegal and negative behaviors in our parks are a growing problem. Positive and healthy programs and activities provide and encourage positive behavior and discourage bad behavior.
The Coalition of East Phoenix supports item #7.
