87 Public Hearing and Ordinance Adoption - Rezoning Application Z-2-22-4 (11th Street and McDowell PUD) - Northwest Corner of 11th Street and McDowell Road (Ordinance G-7095)
My husband and I have been residents of the Coronado Historic District for the past 12 years, homeowners in the neighborhood for 11 years. I want to make sure you know my husband and I voice our strong support for Fairfield’s 11th St. & McDowell Rd. Mixed-Use Community Project.
We believe the project will provide numerous benefits for the neighborhood and surrounding community and is a far better option than the current vacant Surgicenter and parking lot.
This proposal preserves the historic homes and adds much needed homes and density on one of the most used transit lines in the valley. While I understand some debate on balconies and facades, the project provides so many benefits with multiple buildings, walkability of the site and historic preservation that should not be denied. I urge a yes vote on this and its accompanying item.
I whole heartedly support this project to redevelop and bring new life to a blighted property. Activating this plot will extend the already walkable Coronado neighborhood, and make this part of the city even more vibrant.
I would like to express support for this project. This project will redevelop a vacant lot, add eyes to the street, and help to ease the housing supply issue in our area. We need more centrally located housing and this is an ideal project. The developers and owners have been incredibly transparent and iterative with the entire Coronado community.
