Arizona Citizens for the Arts is learning about a number of potential consequences of this ordinance that could negatively impact important projects and operations of arts and culture organizations in the city. We respectfully ask the Council to offer more study and public input to fully consider these consequences and align the ordinance's goals with our common aspiration for a thriving arts and culture community in the City of Phoenix. - Patrick McWhortor, CEO, Arizona Citizens for the Arts

Because of the impact on Phx nonprofit arts and cultural organizations who will benefit from the proposed $500 million bond program, I strongly urge the council to repeal the Prevailing Wage Ordinance. The ordinance will add direct costs to the bond projects and costly, confusing administrative burdens on organizations like Phx Theatre, Phx Center for the Arts, Children's Museum and others. If nothing else, this proposal requires thorough study and input from the stakeholders impacted.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber respectfully requests you APPROVE agenda item number 108 and repeal the Prevailing Wage Ordinance hastily adopted a few weeks ago. The financial and legal repercussions for the city are too high for the Council to adopt without significant staff and stakeholder input.
