I attended a meeting with the water rate increase explained, but now it seems the increase will be 38% instead of 26% and the base amount of water will be reduced so that it really may be more. The City advocates increasing the shade canopy but these increases will only result in homeowners switching to stone yards and INCREASE the heat index. It seem the City is at odds with itself about what is needed. I encourage the Council to vote NO on this and rethink what is needed.

Strongly oppose!. These are excessive increases that are harmful to the Phoenix community, especially for those people that are struggling to make it from week to week and those that are on a fixed income.

These proposed rate increases are well over the cost of living and/or inflation.

My husband and I are retired and this would be a substantial burden on us. Not only us but all the other Phoenix citizens that are struggling.to make ends meet. We have way too many homeless already in Phoenix, and the city needs to start looking out for it's poorer citizens. I am surprised this is even an issue!! Loretta Natkowski

Strongly oppose! This is a hardship on seniors and low income people. Increase this year & re-evaluate next year when we have a better idea what costs will be. You have not been honest with citizens about the reasons for this increase. we should conserve water while the city celebrates huge plants that use enormous amts of water. You have a program to plant trees we won't be able to water. The city of Phoenix will become one big flowerless, hot, brown, dead city. No quality of life here!.

This rate increase was not thought out well and will hurt low to median income residents. Let's rethink this and not pass this rate increase till more thought is put into it.

I believe there are other considerations about the rate increase as well that will be extremely detrimental toward community efforts to address climate impacts from the lack of tree canopy. Phoenix is doing a good job and creating good models by planting trees along street corridors and in City Parks, but the majority of landmass in Phoenix is in private ownership. Faced with a rate increase of up to 60%, many people will not embrace the goals to plant trees.

This is a Conservation massive rate increase this is not a Capital Improvement Plan. Phoenix citizens were misrepresented the information provided by Phoenix Water Department. Some users could have water rates increased by 40 to 60%. not what the city said a 26% increase and a $4.00 surcharge if you are over the allowance. Vote this down. If Phoenix water department needs an increase vote for the 6.5% and reevaluate
