49 Apply for U.S. Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Grant Opportunity for Federal Fiscal Year 2022-23 - Inflation Reduction Act Funding (Ordinance S-50231)
The grant from the Inflation Reduction Act does not reduce inflation. We should not accept the grant much less use it to plant trees, which require more water, which you sold off to that same government which is responsible for the inflation. Use that 10million to fight human trafficking, use it for good.
Vote NO on 49!
The desert climate of Phoenix does not need $10 million worth of trees planted. We are under a water watch now due to our State Govt selling off a portion of our water rights & reduced rainfall. These additional trees will only heighten our need for water thus creating a greater strain on the citizens of Phoenix.
I am against spending $10 Million from the Federal Government to buy and plant trees! We live in a desert environment and are trying to be more conscious on how we use our water. Spending money to plant trees would lead to higher water and tree prices, and would put a strain on our water supply!
Vote NO on agenda item #49.
This is a $10million grant from the federal government through the Inflation Reduction Act. I question how this is fighting inflation when our allotted gallons of water have recently been reduced and our water bills have drastically been increased. Planting $10million worth of trees across the City of Phoenix is going to increase water usage, the price of water, and the price of trees. This definitely isn’t fighting inflation and is not sustainable.
