Public Transit does not have enough police officers on the vehicles people use. Crime is rampant on public transit, and public transit is used by criminals to move about the cities. Homelessness is another big problem when it comes to who impacts the use of public transit. People are not paying the fees associated with public transit. It is unfair to all public transit users, and enforcement of making folks pay would increases crime if not enough police officers available to prevent it.

The city is losing 81.2 million is shared money from the state. Valley metro has been contracted with the COP for over 10 years. Valley Metro has not once fulfilled their contract. Today only 8% of ridership is checked for tickets. Contract says 15%. Valley Metro has never been fully employed always less than 70%. COP pays Valley Metro 54.5mil three year contract. COP should cancel their contract and bring security in house with PHX TRANSIT POLICE and we could save 25,000,000. dollars.
