Plastic water bottles are harmful to the environment, take hundreds of years to decompose and this should not be in the city's budget.

Why do we need to spend $1 Million dollars on bottled water and contribute to landfill problems and plastic in the oceans when a filtered water station works as well or better?

    Oppose
This 5 year, $1 million contract for plastic bottled water could easily be substituted for tap water, and the $1 million for bottled water could be put toward rolling back the rate increase you just imposed on Phoenicians earlier this year.

This seems like wasteful spending and could contribute to the waste with the plastic bottles filling our landfills. I think the money could be put to better use or not spent at all, especially when the city is overspending the budget and looking to create a quadrennial committee using home rule.

Have you looked at the environmental impact on bottled water? Would it not be a better solution to install filtered water stations and then promote "bring your own reusable water bottle". You could even purchase sustainable water bottles for the employees.
How about you roll back the water rate increase with the $1million contract.
