I do not support changing from the current regularly scheduled pickups. I feel this will increase illegal dumping since many people aren’t aware of how to obtain city services and only rely on seeing their neighbors put out their bulk trash every quarter. I also feel that HOAs will struggle with this change since they won’t know if a pile of trash was dumped or scheduled for pickup. Please leave the regular pickup schedule in place.
I feel that this would cause more trash on the street as people are less likely to schedule pick up and more likely to just illegally dump. I also feel that 4 times per year is not enough - it should be 6 times per year at least (another cause of illegal dumping). The placement timeframe should remain 2 weeks because in reality it’s only 2 weekends (normal people work most of the week, and do not have time to place until their days off).
Just a recommendation, while you are considering this might you consider keeping HOA Communities on 1 day or a block of days to make it more cohesive. This would allow you to focus on a community while also creating an environment of cleanliness throughout the boundaries of that community.
This is a great idea that is much more responsive to customer needs and may cut down on blight. Please limit the placement timeframe to only a couple of days and help educate residents to notify their HOA prior to placement
