For decades Phoenix PD had been one of the most murderous gangs in the United States, stop rewarding this destructive force in the community with an ever-increasing share of the community’s resources. Prioritize public safety by sending our dollars to things that actually keep the public safe

i support this budget 100%. The council has worked hard to make this budget support city services that are needed by all of its citizens, not just the police haters. P..S.l the DOJ study is GONE!!. DISMISSED. no longer a thing!!!
Do not make any cuts to public safety . That should be our number 1 priority! We all need to be safe in our neighborhoods. It is difficult to use the services when we are not safe even in our homes. Cutting public safety is nonsense.

The people of Phoenix want the city council to be accountable to allocating resources to our needs: heat relief, access to water, affordable housing, funding libraries and third spaces, public transit, and more community driven movements. Yet here we are again having to fight and oppose increased budgets for the Phoenix Police Department after a 126 page DOJ report that proved what the people of Phoenix have said for decades: PPD is violent and cause harm over and over again. I oppose item 37.

I oppose this budget proposal and demand city council allocate funds for more free, accessible community resources to support the people of Phoenix.

Phoenix PD has proven itself to be one of the most violent police departments in the nation, they do not need more money for weapons to use against civilians. Phoenix Council needs to focus on issues that matter to us Phoenicians like unemployment, rising cost of living, housing, extreme heat, schools, healthcare and other services that help our people. Council must prioritize community needs not increase funding for a department constantly in violation of our rights.

I remember my concerns with our trial budget and l learned and appreciated all of the opportunities we were afforded to learn how the budget was compiled and attended the various meetings. I listened to the robust discussion and opinion. The Mayor's recent State of the City address resounded clarity, increases to address assist in serving our public safety and increasing budget to help our homeless community were well thought out. I support our budget process and recommend approval.

Councilmember Anna Hernandez aptly stated that a budget reflects our city's moral priorities. Over the past decade, police funding has steadily increased while essential services like affordable housing, environmental justice initiatives, public health programs, and violence prevention efforts have not received comparable support.

I oppose the $46M increase to the Phoenix PD budget. Amid a $39M deficit, we should prioritize community needs, not expand a department under federal investigation.

As a Phoenix resident, I strongly oppose this budget proposal as our communities and people are in need of more resources not policing and surveillance. Our communities face high unemployment rates, extreme heat, increasing cost of living, constant threat from government agencies, and more. Give the money to our communities to improve our living conditions and provide a more sustainable solution.

I strongly oppose agenda 37. As a mental health professional, I have seen numerous necessary services get shut down due to lack of funding. The police do NOT need more funding that could be provided for useful essential services such as mental health care and education! The budget needs to prioritize the people, not give more money to the police so they can kill people.

I oppose the council’s $1B police budget—residents need budgets that prioritize people, not police. Instead of funding vacancies, this council must reimagine public safety without armed officers. Phoenix needs alternative emergency response models. The system isn’t broken—it’s working as designed. Fund real solutions beyond law enforcement.

This proposed additional $51 million dollars to the police is disgusting. The Phoenix Police department has been labeled one of the most unjust and violent departments in America

I'm a District 5 resident and parent, and I'm urging Councilwoman Guardado and the Phoenix City Council to vote NO on the proposed budget that gives over $1 billion to the Phoenix Police Department while cutting funding for parks, libraries, and community resources. As a woman of color raising children of color, I'm deeply concerned that this budget prioritizes policing over people. Real safety doesn't come from more police-- it comes from investing in our communities!

I'm opposed to any funding increases for Phoenix PD. There is NO justification to provide one billion dollars for this department that continues to commit acts of violence against our community. Fund what our community actually needs: affordable housing, healthcare, education, youth and elder services, addiction treatment, arts and culture programs.

ONE BILLION DOLLARS for the nation's most deadly police force. Other departments face cuts & Phx City Council once again abandons community to proudly fund state violence. Your constituents directly impacted by your killer cops continue to demand you stop increasing the police budget. Yet, it's likely only D7 will oppose this abhorrent budget. More money for PPD is NOT the answer. Mayor & council members SHAME ON YOU!! How do you even sleep at night knowing there is blood on your dirty hands?

This proposed additional $51 million dollars to the police is disgusting. The Phoenix Police department has been labeled one of the most unjust and violent departments in America. Why would we give more money to them when we could be using it to protect our communities? An unjust and racist department should not exist at all, let alone should NOT be getting $51 million added to their budget when our community members are struggling to pay for rent and food. Prioritize people, not power .

One year ago Council Member Ansari gave $2,000,000 per year for 10 years to two wealthy developers from Scottsdale, where she attended High School and grew up. Today Phoenix proposes to rip $2,000,000 from the annual budget for Park Maintenance. We objected to Ansari's give away plan then. Our objection proved to be laser focused. Those fabulousy wealthy developers have already sold the land and generated massive profits. They have produced absolutely zero of the promised jobs
