I support the adoption of the middle housing overlay to comply with state law, and I encourage the expansion of the overlay. I also love our city's historic character, and believe historic structure review and design requirements are in place to protect that character. It also gives us the opportunity to expand the dwelling capacity of this city in a way the builds on that character. Change in a big city like ours is inevitable, and this gives us agency to guide the change.
