Americans for Nonsmokers’ Rights supports adding electronic smoking devices to the restrictions on smoking in the parks system. Aerosol from these products can cause lung irritation, asthma attacks, and heart attacks. Communities are prohibiting both smoking and vaping in parklands to have healthier, cleaner spaces for physical activity; decrease costly and environmentally harmful waste like cigarette butts and vape cartridges; reduce fire risk; and create better social environments for youth.
