Agenda Item
79 (CONTINUED FROM JULY 1 AND AUG. 26, 2020) - Public Hearing and Ordinance Adoption - Amend City Code - Rezoning Application PHO-1-19--Z-165-06-7(8) - Northwest Corner of 35th Avenue and Carver Road (Ordinance G-6718)
Please deny this application as written and continue to work with the neighbors who would be impacted by development in this area. I support the Carver Mountain neighbors in their fight.
Mayor, Vice Mayor, Councilman Garcia and Council: Please vote to support the neighbors in the Laveen (Quarry/Mountain) area by denying the applicant’s proposal as well as the Planning Commission’s recommendation.
Instead, please support development of the site to R1-18 with the stipulations as supported by the residents by whom you have been contacted. The high density proposed by the applicant is totally out of character with the area. It is simply not compatible.
I oppose - we night to preserve the low density development of the area. The community has spoken and the city is wrong by allowing this incorrect zoning to go unchanged.
Please take the community's opposition seriously. If you lived here you would be fighting for this too.
First, the city should be enforcing the required zoning reversion per Ordinance G-5020.
Second, this proposed development has been and remains incompatible with the area.
Deny, Oppose this project - it DOES NOT fit with anything else in the area.
David Baker - 11908 S 41st Ave Laveen Az 85339. The property should have reverted to previous zoning, and should do so now. DO NOT support this project.
I am OPPOSED to the applicant's proposal and the Planning Commission recommendation to Agenda Item-79!!
Jane Craig, 2905 W. Ceton Drive--Laveen, AZ 85339
Please deny this application. The zoning is incompatible with the surrounding neighborhood. The reversion should have happened nine years ago. Now is the time to rectify the situation. ~Thank you.
Please deny this application and insist that the applicant process a rezoning that is compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. A reduction in the number of lots shown on a plan is not enough to protect against inappropriate density.
Please take the community's opposition seriously. If you lived here you would be fighting for this too.

Second, this proposed development has been and remains incompatible land use with the area
I am opposed to this agenda item. This zoning was never ideal, and importantly, was developed at a different time. Laveen is a truly different place now and we deserve the chance to work with a developer who understands those changes and wants to work with our community to make TODAY'S Laveen a success! This development can be a great contribution to our Laveen, but not as it is currently proposed. Laveen needs this area of lower density to thrive! Please help us make this a reality!
This case is completely incompatible with land use. Zoning has been the issue and the community has overwhelmingly opposed this case for 13 years. The community has proposed a true compromise and the applicant refuses to meet us in the middle with zoning. I request that Mayor and Council support the community and Councilmember Garcia by denying the applicant's case as filed. The community is the victims here.

Please support the community and Councilmember Garcia in denying the application. R1-8 zoning is incompatible with the area.
This property should never have been zoned for high density 10+ years ago against the wishes of the neighborhood

Opposed.
Support the neighbors and Councilman Garcia in opposing this application.
This case should never have been brought forward due to the fact that the Zoning should have reverted. Please deny.

Please vote no on this the land use is not compatible for this area
We are Laveen residents because of the land use provisions and we would like to see our Zoning Ordinance's upheld. Thank you.
