I strongly oppose agenda item 126. I encourage you to support the community and deny this item as filed. I support the 46 lot proposal supported by the LVPC and Vice Mayor Garcia. Our unique community is made up of large lots and is an escape from the city for most of us. Building high density does not fit this area AT ALL!
Zoning of 0-2 du/a is one of the main reasons I chose to live in this area of Laveen. Changing the zoning to what the applicant is requesting is completely incompatible with the surrounding area. Our neighborhood has worked very hard with city officials and gone through the planning committee process to establish a 46 lot proposed agreement that still favors the applicant's interests. I hope you will adopt the Laveen Village Planning Committee's recommendation .

I have found this process to be terribly frustrating. It is clearly designed to wear out the neighborhood opposition in favor of the wealthy developers and their lawyers. I respectfully request that you approve PUD Z-60-20-8 as recommended by the Laveen Village Planning Committee (46 lots)
I oppose the PUD case unless it aligns with the recommendation by the LVPC and Vice Mayor Garcia of no more than 46 lots. The applicant may bring up that his two separate properties combined will average out to a compatible land use, but don't be swayed. One lot IS compatible and the other is not. Your decision as a City Council is an important one and I hope that you see how much the neighbors care for their community's way of life, peace of mind and safety.
The south side of Carver Mtn remains one of the last quiet, peaceful, relatively safe places left in Laveen. We have large open spaces with surrounding property of 0-2 du/a. The applicant wants 3 du/a which is incompatible and unacceptable for this area. I urge the Council to stand up for the neighbors that live, walk, drive, and ride on horseback through here and oppose anything over 46 lots. If your community was to be overdeveloped, I'm sure you would feel the same.
