As seen in ugly years past in American history, pay based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, or disability encourages gross bigotry in the workplace and creates a discriminatory work environment. Many families that remain unvaccinated do so because of personal family situations, often related to a medical need or disability. This policy is extremely harmful and unfair to the most vulnerable City of Phoenix employed families.

This is bribery and coercion of the most Nefarious and seditious sort. And bribery with our tax dollars no less. If this policy is carried out and results in the injury or death of city employees, those responsible for supporting and carrying out this policy should be held accountable for intent to cause bodily harm and even premeditated murder. Strongly opposed.

This proposal is clear discrimination and coercion, what are you thinking? Is this how council members conduct business for the city? Shameful. Do we get bonuses for natural immunity or only for getting a “vaccine” that still allows you to carry and spread Covid? Is that scientific? Ethical? No it’s neither. Do the thing you know is right, end any talk of mandates or proposals that discriminate against the employees you claim to represent.

This is a clear case of discrimination; lawsuits will follow. Phoenix is unsafe and deteriorating at an alarming rate. A vote for discriminatory practices on compensation will see more employees leave: Phx will continue to decline. Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used for unlawful vaccine incentives. Is this best the City Council, Mayor and City Manager have to offer? If so then step down now, residents of Phx deserve better. Do the right thing; vote against this discriminatory proposal.

it is unethical to bribe employees to get a jab that DOES NOT work. In fact Dr. Fauci states those who are vaccinated have more virus in them and actually at a higher percentage to read the virus. Vaccines mandates endanger our cities safety, profitability and the ability to function at work levels that keep our operating smoothly. THE VACCINES DO NOT WORK- THEY DO NOT STOP A PERSON FROM GETTING COVID OR SPREADING IT. IT IS INSANITY. STOP! EARN YOU SALARY AND PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS.

This incentive program is divisive and discriminatory.  There is no precedent related to paying employees for personal choices they make outside of their job requirements.  Employees receive increased pay for promotion, tenure, achievement, and merit... NEVER for personal choices.  Please pull the data. Breakthrough cases among vaccinated COP employees are prevalent. Are you really going to pay people for doing something that doesn't work? This will create division and damage. Please stop it

The idea that the city feels the need to persuade, pressure, incentivize, threaten & bully people into taking an experimental vaccine shows the true character of this leadership. It is pure discrimination to pay people more based on their vaccination status. Medical freedom is just that, freedom. The freedom the choose what is best for our own health. Natural immunity has been shown to be stronger than the vaccine, it must be taken into consideration.

Just Wow! What’s wrong with you guys. Employees came downtown last week to protest against the vaccine and now you want to only give bonus for the vaccinated. You guys are a disgrace.

This is ridiculous! You are discriminating against your employees. Are you giving a bonus to those that don't drink soda? Or only drive the speed limit? Those employees worked during the pandemic and this is how you repay them??!!

I worked for you during the pandemic putting myself and my family in danger and now you won't pay me the same as others because I won't tell you my vaccination status?

This discrimination is utterly intolerable. It is a blot on the faces of the leaders of the COP. These decisions are not being made on the basis of empirical data regarding COVID vaccine inefficacy, nominal COVID hospitalization and morbidity rates, nor naturally acquired antibody adequacy. If the city was honestly trying to do the right thing, they would honor the medical rights of EVERY employee and refuse to offer special treatment based upon vaccination status. This discrimination is immoral

Why are you pushing these vaccines and boosters on people so hard? Will they “only” work if “ everyone “ gets one? Nonsense!! What ulterior motive are you hiding? Stop the discrimination and fight for what’s right for all the people not just a chosen few. Remember this is America, land of the free and equality for all.

Are you paying more to those who do not drink alcohol ? I know I will feel a lot better that I got paid more even though I had adverse effects from the vaccine ! $ is power.

Steven Backus almost 3 years ago

This is discrimination! Many people will not partake in the vaccine because of medical situations and religious convictions. You’d be segregating those people and discriminating against them. The vaccine is also ineffective Phoenix Fire has documented over 100 breakthrough cases in Fire personal alone. Which whom needed significant time off for their covid infection and indeed further spread the virus. The vaccine is not the solution, don’t make other problems arise from coercion efforts.

This pay discrimination based on health choices is wrong and will result in numerous law suit. The vaccines are only EUA. The only approved vaccine is not available in the USA. A Federal judge has already ruled that Pfizer vaccines are not approved by the FDA as many have been stating. The side effects and injuries up to and including death are caused by these EUA vaccines and are countless. The vaccinated are still catching and spreading COVID. Please stop the division.
