Vote No Vote No Vote No. When will the city council finally listen to the cries of the community? Police are constantly getting more and more protection while proving to be more and more violent. DO SOMETHING about the violence the PPD inflict on a daily basis and vote NO.

We should not be throwing more money at PLEA. Some of these modifications like removing public warning language and not using vacation time for suspensions should already be implemented. It's absurd that they want more money for this. These "reforms" are performative at best, but in reality this memorandum is harmful. Time and time again, we see that increased police funding does not improve the material conditions for Black and brown people.

City Council, the community has been speaking out clearly against the violence and harm that PPD inflicts on Black, brown, indigenous, and poor people. Yet these cries remain unanswered. Why? The only possible reason that you would vote yes on this MOU is if upholding systemic racism and supporting killer cops is your top priority. It is YOUR JOB to work on behalf of your constituent's needs. But, you sit there week after week and do nothing to save lives and stop the cycle. We see you.

Vote NO. Police are already the most heavily protected group of people in the country. They can literally kill anyone they want, whenever they want, and never face any consequences. Police are the militarized arm of the state, completely unreachable by any legal system of accountability. Unless you are utterly soulless, there is no way you can vote to give them even more protection and still sleep tonight. You have the power to begin dismantling this system, starting with this vote. Vote NO.

I support this MOU and the changes outlined in the agenda item. Anything that serves to reduce or disincentivize police protection ultimately hurts the most vulnerable in our population. Making the pay less competitive and the working conditions worse will only serve to attract less desirable employees because they will be the only ones who think it worth it to put up with the kind of abuse our police have been getting. Please support this MOU.

This police contract is full of weak reforms and more money for Phoenix police. Letting cops negotiate this contract behind closed doors has resulted in one of the most violent and unaccountable departments in the country. Council needs to reject this contract until the public is guaranteed full access to labor negotiation meetings. It is our money and our safety on the line.

Please vote no on this MOU. This MOU is lacking in any true awareness of how we ensure that Black Lives Matter and are protected by our governmental structures. Do not support and condone these police unions. They protect paid murderers who condone the use of white supremacist imagery in their “challenge coins.” This is very dangerous for the citizens of Phoenix and we must stop it. VOTE NO. #DefundPhxPD #CouncilStaysFailing
