I 100% support our Phoenix Police and salary raise. They risk their lives every time they put on their uniform and deserve our respect and gratitude.

"With great power comes great responsibility." Many thx Your Honor, Vice-Mayor & Councilmembers for wielding your great power with great care & deliberation. Our PHX Police Officers are given great power as well & we count on them to act responsibly. A crucial step toward ensuring we're staffed with the very best Officers available is to make PHX a place where veteran officers want to stay & rookies want to be. Please support this critically needed pay structure for the safety of all Phoenicians

Kate, your every vote betrays the ideals of Black political solidarity. We’ve had fewer cops every year and crime has gone down while officer involved shootings have gone up. Every opportunity you’ve had, you’ve voted to give more money to police, even after a DOJ investigation, multiple lawsuits and being threatened by a cop! What are you doing here? Trying to squeeze a few more piggy pay raises in before you resign like Jeri and Ed? VOTE NO! #NoPiggyPayRaise

I Support our Phoenix Police. Fund their raises. I live in a crime ridden neighbor hood and need to know the police will be here when I need them. Yes to their raise.

There are many other worthy, urgent things to invest this money into - the police force is not among. them. Homeless folks need shelter especially in this extreme heat of the summer, climate crisis, continued public safety measures for COVID, public transit... these are a mere few that need the funding more than Phoenix PD. NO FUNDING! NO SUPPORT for rewarding bullies.

NO MORE MONEY FOR KILLERS. The climate crisis is a public safety concern, invest into THAT. We need the $20 million to be put towards investments in climate resiliency, such as public transportation electrification, trees and green areas, cooling centers and emergency housing for our unsheltered community, and creating complete streets for our region. Complete streets keep our communities safe, not the police.

This is unacceptable to Increase the police budget AGAIN. If we want to talk about safety, the community is loud in action that this needs to go to public housing access, heat relief spaces, health care and mental health awareness, de-escalation training for social workers, investment in education and teachers pay. This list is NOT even close to exhausted. What is exhausting is protecting property and feelings over HUMAN life. Vote NO.

I find this extremely offensive and is outrageous and unacceptable that the City would give Phoenix Police 20-67% raises and have been the most violent and corrupt police in the country particularly with recent extreme corruption and the DOJ investigation.
You need to put funding in housing & homeless.
I'm an extreme victim of Officer Jason Gillespie who almost killed me with his bare hands bc he was enraged that he thought I called the police for help too many times & accused me of trespassing.

Our officers that protect us and keep us safe deserve to be paid for their hard and dangerous work! I fully support!

I fully support these badly needed increases to all levels of compensation for all levels in the Phoenix Police Department. We must continue to attract and retain applicants and officers to meet the needs of the million plus residents who expect laws to be enforced by highly qualified individuals filling the ranks of the Phoenix PD. Those who want fewer Police do not speak for the million plus residents who want a Net Increase in officers in Phoenix. I am a 50 year plus resident.

Public safety I’d critical for all citizen, especially for the poorer and most vulnerable in our community. We look at the failure of Seattle & Portland and not make the same mistakes.

We must support this. We need to better compensate our law enforcement so we can recruit more and help fight the insane levels of crime in Phoenix. Please vote YES!

Phoenix Police officers are dealing with insane levels of stress. The least we can do is catch up their pay to all the other cities. Please vote yes.

To put it simply Phoenix Police should not be getting any raise in their budget for many reasons that this council is well aware of. I oppose this budget that neglects the community in favor of supporting a violent police force that has had no accountability.

I support this agenda item. American cities are becoming uninhabitable due to the increasing crime and too few people wanting to risk their lives everyday for poor compensation. Defunding the police is having a devastating effect on this country.

Please support our police officers by paying them a decent wage for protecting us. Crime is out of control and we need good officers standing in the gap for us!
