I live several blocks west of 27th avenue but drive along 27th avenue frequently. During those times I have seen for myself the negative changes on 27th avenue. the prostitutes walking along it, some who are VERY young, the drug deals, homeless encampments and heard the reports of violent crimes. I support this Crime Prevention Plan because it brings hope to the residents, support to the police and collaboration with community resources to bring about the necessary changes. Thank You

I am a parent and teacher at Alhambra Traditional and I support these steps in helping to stop these crimes that students, parents and staff are witnessing daily. In the four years our school has been located at 27th avenue and Palo Verde, the crime has blatantly increased. Waking into school in the morning and afternoon, families are being faced with having very difficult conversations about what they are seeing and wondering if their child’s school is safe. Please help us in protecting them.

I live on 27th Ave. and Luke Ave. The way to end the prostitution business is to end the demands of the Johns or customers. I believe seeing the presence of a police officer and police car by having police presence will deter the Johns. The police do not have to enter legal challenges to make an arrest. The only way we can drive the business out of town is to make the Johns disappear. The prostitution draws drug use and gun violence in our neighborhood.

My name is Richard Stinnett, and I am the principal of Alhambra Traditional School located at 5725 N. 27th Avenue. In the four years that our school has been here, the crime in the surrounding neighborhood (prostitution, drugs, etc.) has ratcheted up significantly. I am very much in favor of this needed investment in our community to ensure that our environment is safe and welcoming for our students, parents, and staff. Thank you for your awareness and response to these issues.

As a current resident of the area; this is something I definitely support. Our children need a safer environment to grow up in...one where Crime, Theft, Graffiti, Trespassing, Prostitution etc. is not the normal (of which this area currently is known for). Our future generations will thank this City Council for thinking of their well-being. Thank you.

This is ABSOLUTELY needed. The 27th Ave corridor has had a lot of increase in crime, graffiti, encampments and prostitution. We need to increase funding to the Phoenix Police Department
