I oppose raising wages for Phoenix PD while they continue to kill our citizens. Let's put the money into services (ex: metal health) to help Phoenix residents.
I urge the council and especially Carlos Gracia and Laura Pastor to vote no on a pay raise for a police department that is under federal investigation for corruption and silencing first amendment-protected protesters. It is clear to me as a resident of Phoenix that council is complicit in this corruption and the sanctioning of killer cops and prosecutors that only carceral feminists could believe in. You’re whiteness is showing, babies, and it’s causing deaths in our streets and backyards.
VOTE NO. The Phoenix PD has cost the city millions in lawsuits and and "serves" this community in ways that are ultimately harmful. Voting yes on this budget is being complicit in the continued legacy of violent & cruel actions of PHX PD and further disenfranchises the people you claim to serve. We demand that you invest in the needs of the people! VOTE NO.
Our Phoenix Police deserve to be respected and receive a fine salary reflective of the bravery, training and professionalism our community requires each time they put on the uniform and badge. The Black Mountain Police provide our area of Cave Creek and Phoenix with excellent service and we would like to see them well paid and highly respected.
"With great power comes great responsibility." Many thx Your Honor, Vice-Mayor & Councilmembers for wielding your great power with great care & deliberation. Our PHX Police Officers are given great power as well & we count on them to act responsibly. A crucial step toward ensuring we're staffed with the very best Officers available is to make PHX a place where veteran officers want to stay & rookies want to be. Please support this critically needed pay structure for the safety of all Phoenicians
Betty, Yass, Laura, Carlos, and Kate you must VOTE NO! You claim to care about your constituents, yet ignore the violence PPD inflicts on Black, Brown, and Indigenous folx everyday. You actively work against their demands by further funding the nation’s most deadly police force. Do not perpetuate white violence by addressing serious issues with carceral feminism. We repeat: PPD must be DEFUNDED. Do NOT vote to increase a pay raise for state-sanctioned violence. Policing is NOT safety. Vote NO!
Funding police will not keep us safer, and creates more potential for harm to our communities. This council has consistently ignored demands for defunding and divestment from the criminal punishment system, and it is shameful and harmful. Take this opportunity to show the communities most in need that you are willing invest in sustainable supports for our well being, and vote NO to more raises for cops.
council again on it for more $ for police paychecks while Black, Brown, & Indigenous people have told you for years that PPD is targeted in their violence and ineffective in their duties, while PPD has been found (again) to be the most deadly nationwide, while we've got a 450% increase in folks living unsheltered and almost 2,000 dead within the last two years? your job is to authorize the public improvements your constituents demand. how long will death instead be your priority?

Set an example for the rest of the country. PPD must be DEFUNDED. Do NOT vote to increase a pay raise for state sanctioned violence. Policing is NOT safety. Community care is safety. Vote NO!
This city and entire country has an insurmountable amount of proof that shows us COPS DO NOT PROTECT US. Invest in real community care! Voting yes on this budget rewards the continued legacy of disgusting and violent actions of PHX PD and further disenfranchises the people you claim to serve. We demand that you, the so-called progressives on council, vote like Black Lives Matter and Invest in the needs of the people! Vote NO! #NoPiggyPayRaise

Support our Phoenix Police. Fund their raises. I live in a crime ridden neighbor hood and need to know the police will be here when I need tham. Yes to their raise.
NO to $63 million towards Phoenix Police for pay raises! The department is being investigated by the DOJ for abuse of power and civil rights violations - this type of behavior cannot be condoned with raises. Phoenix PD already has nearly a billion dollar budget. People of color, LGBTQIA+ people, neurodivergent people, homeless people, mentally ill people and every combination and intersection of marginalized people deserve better. NO TO THE FUNDING. Absolutely not.

My family 100% SUPPORTS the increase in pay for PD! Phx is extremely behind in PD pay as the 5th largest City in the US! And all organizations and businesses have had to increase pay these past couple years (anyone who has hired staff will know that). Phx PD put their lives on the line every day!! ALL NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS who I personally know & work with ALL SUPPORT this pay increase. We ask City Council to pass the PD pay increase & neighborhoods leaders' concerns who also help our City.

NO MORE MONEY FOR KILLERS. The climate crisis is a public safety concern, invest into THAT. We need the $20 million to be put towards investments in climate resiliency, such as public transportation electrification, trees and green areas, cooling centers and emergency housing for our unsheltered community, and creating complete streets for our region. Complete streets keep our communities safe, not the police.

On behalf of the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona ("HBACA"), please support of the proposed pay structure for the city's police officers. Safe neighborhoods and jobsites are important to our members' success in providing needed housing for the city' residents. It is vital that the city attract and maintain a fully staffed force. The additional compensation will help.

I 100% support this being passed! Please help our hurting city by giving our law enforcement the pay they deserve so new recruits will want to come! Support those who protect and serve!
