I oppose the approval of a BLM mural on the streets. I think it sets a bad precedent to start spray painting the streets in AZ, Maricopa or Phoenix, Driving downtown is confusing enough without having more distractions on the roadways. If you allow this, will you allow me to paint a Confederate flag at the intersection? Or Planned Parenthood Murders Babies across the street? Trump 2020? MAGA? If you allow one, you must allow all. Do not encourage this behavior.

BLM is an organization paid by George Soros an known Nazi and proceeds go to Democratic politicians. Why would Arizona even consider a DOMESTIC TERRORISTS PLATFORM IN OUR STATE. Arizona and its politicians should back BLUE LIVES MATTER, SAVE THE CHILDREN & TRUMP 2020. President Trump has supported both Blue and Children and to allow hatred by BLM into the city of Phoenix is wrong.

I oppose the creation of a Black Lives Matter Mural. Moreover, I oppose any adopted process that would allow any group to turn our streets into an open forum. Creating the mural proposed would only serve to further divide our nation while also creating a safety hazard for residents of Phoenix. Please, council members, use your power to accomplish something meaningful, not just politically expedient.

    I OPPOSE the BLM mural.
This will only bring Division, Lawlessness, Violence and Destruction of property as evidenced by EVERY City that has supported this group.
If this happens I would expect and demand a BLUE LIVES MATTER Mural Set up and funded in Exactly the same way. And then a ALL lives matter, and a Unborn lives matter funded and set up the same way.
Do not do this and open a neverending pandora's box of Government funded Murals

In the current climate of civil unrest allowing a street painting like this would only serve to further divide our community. Please do not add fuel to the fire; we need things that are unifying, not divisive.

I am opposed to the BLM mural street project. The BLM murals painted on the streets of other cities have been divisive rather than unifying. if this is allowed the City will need to also consider the requests of street murals from other organizations as well. In the past the City has rejected this type of messaging on City streets and I think that this precedent should continue.

How can this even be of question?? The lasting repercussions of allowing such a radical symbol to be painted on our streets is UN acceptable.
I am in disgust this is even a topic of conversation that is using our tax dollars to pay. Secondly They are a politically backed organization with direct ties to the democratic party. Third is this organization is nothing peaceful and this I am sure will bring destruction and unrest to the streets of PHOENIX.

BLM is radical political organization trying to hide its agenda by having a seeming harmless statement as its name. This should absolutely not be allowed

BLM is a political organization directly connected to Back the Blue which is a funding source for the Democratic Candidates which would make the mural unethical unless the city plans to provide equally prominent space for Republican organizations to paint a mural. Council should study the clean elections rules before making a determination.

I am opposed to the BLM mural. Yes, black lives do matter, but this organization is violent and corrupt. They have rioted, looted, paid violent protestors, Incited violence, and burned cities down across our country. They are terrorizing people in restaurants who don’t comply to their demands. I want no part of this in Phoenix. We should not support such hatred and corruption.

I am whole heartedly against the BLM organization, their mission statements stands against American values and virtues and everything we hold dear in Arizona, they want to tear down the nuclear family and dismantle the society. A simple review of their mission statement will confirm how polarizing they are to the America's core principles. Everywhere this organization inserts a foothold there is looting and rioting to follow. All lives Matter!

I Oppose I feel that if all other monuments in this state were ordered to be taking down due to people were offended by them then these should not be put up. As I feel this is racist and will divide our great state. We should keep it fair across the board ALL LIVES MATTER IN AZ. Not one color not one race BUT ALL.
    Thank You

Lame...Where is the Trump 2020 mural, or the Blue Lives Matter mural going to be placed; stop pushing the leftist, progressive agenda using taxpayer money!

By promoting one race over another we are promoting racism by it's definition. With that said if BLM is a legitimate cause they do have the right to be heard; the current message is my problem. BLM should promote all lives & work towards reform to rebuild not destroy. I want to know the agenda for this mural. Is BLM willing to promote all lives including Blue lives to call for an end to the violence taking place during their events; honestly. We are a cultural community of many races not racism.

Absolutely not! We have billboards for that reason. If you want to advertise BLM on a billboard fine but don’t use taxpayers money to make a racist mural. You can’t single out one race and say that it’s not racist.

Absolutely Not. We have laws that control our signs and markings on our roadways. This would cause irresponsible strife in our community. There are billboards all over the valley where people can express their opinion. This is not what the majority of Arizona wants on our streets. If there are any questions on this put it on the Ballot November 3rd 2020. Let our people decide.

NOTHING other than legal street markings in designated colors should be painted on our streets. Our streets are marked with prescribed and predictable colors and markings for traffic control and safety. Our streets should stay that way to keep us safe to travel. No non profits, businesses, organizations, and individuals should put any markings or messages on our streets. Not anyone. Not anything. Our streets are not billboards.
