The fact that baseball is a distance based sport, there is a strong need to stop the spread of the virus but continue to give our children socialization, physical exercise, and team work in their daily lives. Major benchmarks are now very low and we can play baseball.

Please open parks to allow for organized recreation activities. These are critical to the mental health of our children and it is possible to conduct them safely and in a manner that minimizes the potential spread of COVID. Please allow some form of "gatherings" (even if you require mitigation measures) that allow for organized sports to occur. It will also support addressing inequities that exist given that sports are completely open for parents who can afford to pay to access them.

Please consider re-opening fields for youth baseball. Some other cities have already re-opened, and with some precautions sports can be played safely. With proper social distancing, sanitizing, masks, and temperature checks, teams can start practicing and playing games. It is very important to get our kids back outside and playing again, which will give them a healthy outlet after spending several months indoors and on screens for several hours due to at-home schooling, etc. Thank you!

I think it's extremely important for our kids that we give them the opportunity to get out and interact with other kids in a safe manner. Allowing parks and fields to open would give them a way to socially interact but do it safely. We all know that masks are effective and keeping us all safe. Enforcing masks can make this safe for all of us. If gyms can be reopened (indoors), I believe parks and fields can safely reopen. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Please open the parks and let the kids play baseball. Please let the coaches, parents, and players show you they care with their actions and commitment to Safe Play. Take a chance on us. We need our parks and amenities to bring some balance to our lives and staying closed is beyond frustrating. We can be safe and we will be safe. We are all happy to abide by any all stipulations the Council deems necessary to get our kids outside and out of the house. Thank you for your consideration.

Please consider this request to reopen our parks and fields for youth sports, specifically to allow baseball and soccer. These organizations have guidelines in place for children to return safely to play, such as, coaches wearing masks, hand sanitizing and social distancing during both practices and games. It is important for our children to be outside, staying active to ensure and maintain mental and physical health. Please consider opening the parks and let the children play!

I am strongly in favor of opening the parks and allowing our children to play baseball. Covid benchmarks have improved significantly over the past several weeks and SCR has developed a plan that allows baseball to resume safely. Our children missed out on so much over the past six months. Please don’t take away their opportunity to play fall baseball!

Please consider reopening our fields and let the children play baseball. Adult leagues have played softball since early June in Scottsdale, even with Covid at it's peak and the players have remained safe and well. It is a distance sport, played outside and they are taking extra precautions. These children deserve the same and have been overlooked so many times over the last few months. They need the socialization, to be part of a team again and to get exercise through a sport they love.

As more and more evidence is published concerning the effect of this virus on children, the less it makes sense to continue isolating our children to the detriment of their mental health and development. This virus is hazardous to an older population, and for the most part those that have co-morbidities that put them at increased risk. Ironically, in a nation that has an increasing obesity problem (currently the predominant risk factor aside from increasing age) we keep our parks closed.

Please consider this request to reopen our parks and fields for youth sports, specifically to allow baseball organizations to restart. Baseball allows for the participants to distance themselves, and our organization has a return to play plan that requires participants/coaches to follow several procedures for all on field activities to help keep the players distanced. As an outdoor activity, with reported covid numbers trending down, this should be one of the next things allowed to reopen.

169 days ago our city shut down for "15 days to flatten the curve" and here we sit. Almost half of a year OUR children haven't been able to participate in youth sports. We have seen the worst of this and AZ is on the mend. We can do this with proper protocols and keep our healthcare system stable. All neighboring cities have already opened our parks. Want to save lives? Let's now focus on the mental health of our children in the community and get them exercising again. LET THEM PLAY!

The parks need to open back up.There are many guidelines in place for playing sports and Baseball is naturally a socially distant sport. The Leagues all have guidelines for sanitizing, distancing and mask wearing. The community tax dollars go towards these fields and they need to be opened back up for them to be used. The children need the social interaction and physical and mental health.Consider the benchmark numbers are lowering every day and there is no reason to keep the parks closed.Thank you

Please open the City parks so that our children can finally get back outside and enjoy sports and other activities. Our children are not in school and deserve to enjoy sports in a safe and outside setting. If restaurants, bars, and workplaces can be open, so can parks. it is time!

Please open parks for youth sports! It is so important for youth to have sports to build social, mental and physical health. The last 6 months having youth activities suspended has taken a toll on our children. Now almost all business are reopened it is time to allow kids to get back to normal activities.

I am in support of opening the city of Phoenix parks for children to play baseball. Baseball is a safe, outdoors solution for kids who are in virtual school all day and need sports during the week. Please consider opening the fields for the kids to play safely. Thank you!
