Please consider this plea to reopen the state parks for baseball. Our six year old finished his kinder year on zoom and is now doing first grade in front of a computer 5 1/2 hours a day. He loves baseball. Baseball is a bright light for our entire family. He needs the fresh air, the distant socialization, the camaraderie and the exercise, all while honoring the pandemic protocols. Let’s work together to get our kids back on a path to somewhat normal. Thank you very much.

I am writing to support the opening of the baseball fields. It is good for our children to get back to exercising and getting that social, yet distance interaction. I believe that SCR can provide a safe platform for our children to play and we can stop the spread while also allowing our children to play the sport they love. Thank you for the consideration

Let them okay ball! Please reopen our parks and enable our children to resume league sports! Schools have been open for three weeks now without incident, we are meeting the benchmarks for decline of cases, outdoor activities are low risk of transmission and children are inherently less susceptible to contracting is spreading this virus. Life must go on, and based on the benchmarks, the science and the facts....it is time! Please reopen our parks!

Please open Phx City parks and fields for organized baseball and soccer programs that have proven their commitment to following AZ DHS health & safety guidelines. Our children need socialization, physical exercise, and team environments for their mental/physical health. RSL Soccer and Cal Ripken baseball have played since May 2020 (on alternate fields) and have a track record of safety. These are not untested programs. Thank you for your consideration.

Please open up PV Parks!! Youth sports (i.e. baseball) is a distant, very minimal contact sport, and safety guidelines are in place to support our kids And families. We have prepared for this in so many ways and Other cities are open and our youth need sports for mental and physical stability.

Open the parks and let the kids play! Responsible social distancing can be done with a distance sports like baseball. our program has built in safety guidelines to encourage distance, masked coaches and regular hand sanitizing. There is a strong need to stop the spread of the virus but continue to give our children socialization, physical exercise, and team work in their daily lives. Major benchmarks are now very low and we can play baseball while continuing to slow the spread

Open Parks Fields for youth Sports. All other cities are open for these activities. There are no valid reasons for Phoenix to maintain the current closures.

As a parent of a Paradise Value School District student athlete, I support the motion to reopen parks to non-contact sports effective immediately. Outdoor non-contact sports such as baseball are the lowest risk activities available to children, and Maricopa case and hospitalization counts have fallen more than 90% since the July peaks.

Please consider reopening parks and baseball/softball fields for our youth. Having access to the fields allows us to continue to give our children socialization, physical exercise, and team work in their daily lives, which has been lacking for months now. Both sports allow kids to be distanced on the fields minimizing risk. Many have been driving to cities up north to have access to fields to play on, it’s time we reopen our fields to our youth.

Let the children play! Baseball is a distance based sport. Our coaches have taken extra efforts to make baseball safe. The coaches are masked and there is hand sanitizing by all. We want to stop the spread of the virus, but don’t want to deprive our children from socialization, physical exercise, and team work in their daily lives. Major benchmarks are now very low and many schools are returning. We can play baseball and slow the spread too! Our mental health depends on community!!

Please consider opening the parks for youth sports. Our children have been through enough and need some level of normalcy. As a parent of 2 boys in the Scottdale Cal Ripken League, I am confident they can outline guidelines and assure adherence. Kids need the socialization, physical activity and overall benefit to their mental health.

I am writing to support opening of Phoenix parks for our kids to play sports. As a baseball coach I can assure the council that our league, Scottsdale Cal Ripken, take COVID precautions very seriously and have a plan to take all possible measures to protect our community. Baseball by it's nature is low contact, outdoors, and generally distanced and the kids need the social interaction, exercise, and teamwork it offers. We will model how to safely reopen and begin to return to normal life.

Please take into consideration opening the parks and fields up for all athletics and other events.Children really need the physical and metal activity to happen right now.We need the parks/fields to be open to do this. The athletic leagues follow state guidelines and have many protocols in place on masks, sanitizer and distancing. These activities help with their physical exercise, socialization and mental state. Other groups also follow protocol and have rules in place. We need the parks open.

Hello,I am in support of opening Phoenix City Parks, mainly the baseball fields. Baseball in it's nature is a distance based sport. My son is currently on a team and they have safety guidelines in place to encourage distancing, have masked coaches and practice regular hand sanitizing. While I understand there is a need to stop the spread of COVID, we also need to continue to give our children opportunities to socialize, get physical exercise, and practice teamwork in their daily lives.Thank you
