I'm a Mom of a boy. He means the world to me and I know that while it is imperative that we tame the spread of this virus so more people don't die... it too is imperative that our children get a chance to save themselves. Through the simple act of playing Baseball. A sport that is easy to "social distance..." it's practically the definition of it. My son likes it particularly because of that! We will play baseball responsibly on your fields. But you need to open them.

Phoenix Parks should without a doubt be open and allow youth sports. Physiologically, most children have exceptional immune systems that can combat many diseases. Children need interaction with other children, physical exercise for self confidence and exposure to teamwork through organized sports. CDC has put out extremely reasonable guidelines for parks to open and youth sports to begin. If organizations are willing to comply then there is no reason parks should remained closed.

Please consider opening the parks for use of youth sports. Sports are an Integral part of developing our children. Our baseball program, Scottsdale Cal Ripken, has built in safety guidelines to encourage distance, masked coaches and regular hand sanitizing. There is a need to stop the spread but continue to give our children socialization, physical exercise, and team work in their lives. Children deserve to Be able to play baseball in our parks.

Please consider opening phoenix parks for youth sports and activities. Our kids need not only the physical activity of youth sports, but the teamwork and skill work associated with these sports...especially baseball. Baseball is a distance based sport. With that built in distance, masked coaches, regular hand sanitizing we believe baseball is a safe sport to return to.

Our kids right now need to be outside and playing baseball. Along with their physical health, we also need to think of their mental health. Baseball is sport that can provide the ability to be outside, socialize, get physical and still be safe. We are willing to follow guidelines that are put in place as long as our kids are able to be outside and enjoy what Arizona has to offer.

As a parent, SCR has impressed upon me that the appropriate safety guidelines will be implemented. Please open fields and let them play. Thank you.

We can play while continuing to slow the spread with precautions.
