Phoenix Fire always treats people with kindness and respect on some of the toughest days of people’s lives. The Crisis Program is a vital resource for the department and city. Even with their lack of current resources I have seen first hand the effort and compassion Phoenix Fire department conveys in helping those in need! I support the budget and the Phoenix Fire Department, who are the highest qualified people, to keep the crisis program in the hands of the some of AZ’s best people!!

The CAP is a vital resource for the Phoenix Fire and Police Department. Furthermore, it is invaluable to the citizens of Phoenix. The assistance they provide during critical incidents such as drownings, fires, deaths and mental health emergencies is paramount. The thought that an individual or entity would want this program to go away is beyond comprehension.
    I fully support the CAP.

I support funding for and management of the Crisis Response (CAP) by PFD.
PFD has a 25 year history of managing this resource effectively, with limited resources. Allowing for expansion of those resources will realize the full potential of this program, and increase the impact and reach of the program to the city’s most vulnerable citizens.

As a current Capt.with a PFD I support the budget and the funding of our CAP (Community Assistance Program). I witness firsthand the amazing work our CAP provides. As first responders we assist our community on some of their worst days imaginable and the CAP is always there for us, and our community to help navigate these challenging times. For over 20 years the CAP has been under the umbrella of the PFD. Please help continue their amazing work by providing proper funding for the CAP. Thank you

Phoenix chose to give the Phx PD Covid Relief funds in 2020 instead of providing residents more pandemic support. The recently passed police MOU opens the door for council to give relief funds to the police later this year. It is unacceptable to misuse future emergency relief money by giving it to the police when we could use those funds to ensure the basic needs of the community are met. ARPA money must go directly to the people of this community and not to Phoenix PD.

I fully support the Phoenix Fire Department and their operation of the CAP program. It's such a benefit to the community and will be that much better once it receives the budget it needs and deserves.

Allowing a budget to expand Phoenix PD when there is a lack of accountability for that department does not make any sense. Why is the city choosing to increase an already enormous budget for this deadly and corrupt department? There are 176 vacancies in Phoenix PD already. it makes no sense to increase funds for this department to create 75 more new positions. This money belongs to the community so it should be invested in us not police. Convert the vacancies to cover the requested positions.

Listen to community demands and STOP expanding Phx PD. This council needs to commit to taking care of the residents of this city and pledge not to give any further Covid-19 relief fund to the police department moving forward. and Any future surplus should go to community resources and not policing. ARPA funds must go directly to the people of this community and not to Phoenix PD.

I support the Phoenix Fire Department and their operation of the CAP. They have done a tremendous job for 25 years, assisting the most vulnerable populations in Phoenix. The PFD is a trusted resource in the community, and approving this budget will allow them to have a greater impact in this city. Please support PFD in this critical initiative.

I strongly support the budget especially the 2.8M for Climate Change & Heat Readiness. We definitely need more shade trees and water conservation to prepare for the rising heat.

CAP is an expansion of violent police power. These “crisis support workers” petition to have people caged against their will in institutions where they are forcibly medicated. These are prisons by another name. Any expansion of the program is a slap in the face to all of the community members who have been demanding no expansions to police for years. The 75 new police department positions are another twist of the knife of this violent city council. No new cops, no more city crisis workers.

Allowing a budget that expands Phx PD while there continues to be a lack of accountability for that department is illogical. Why is the city choosing to expand and blow up an already enormous budget for this deadly and corrupt department? There are 176 vacancies in Phx PD, it makes no sense to increase funds to this department to create 75 new positions when we could save taxpayers dollars and convert these vacancies to cover those positions.
