I support fully funding the CAP program, and keeping it under the Phoenix Fire Department.
I also am strongly apposed to any gov. agency or employee having a say in my medical decisions. Mask mandates are unconstitutional and must be banned. HIPPA - my right to Private Decisions between myself and my doctor. You do not have the right to make medical decisions for me, and I do not consent. Mandates violate my rights, you can recommend, but you can't mandate. The choice is mine as a Free American.

I thank and encourage Council to continue its support of the $2.8M for Climate Change and Heat Readiness initiatives. Please continue to implement solutions to reduce heat and increase the number of green spaces in urban areas while reducing emissions and incentivizing reductions in individual and industry carbon footprints. It is efforts like these that will lead us towards the thriving, livable communities and healthy environment that I hope to see in 20 years & generations to come.

I support full funding of the Community Assistance Program. I also fully support the funding for trees and shade priorities, including the proposed Office of Heat Mitigation and Response, the Tree Administrator position, and full funding for the Cool Corridors program. Please also continue to fully fund the Tree and Shade Master Plan.

I support full funding of the CAP program and keeping it under the Phoenix Fire Department. This funding will provide the adequate funding for a much needed service under the most trusted City service department. The City Council made a great decision on the allocation of funds for this need to safeguard our vulnerable population and their families in time of crises. Thank you for responding to the many voices like mine who advocated for this service.

Our country is facing a mental health crisis. Phx PD continue to show they are a danger to our community and are not equipped to handle welfare and mental health checks. We need to reallocate funds to the proposed NoCap program, sending trained mental health professionals to crisis calls. This program must be free of police/ICE involvement. Police do not make our community safer, access to needed resources does! The current CAP program is ineffective and dangerous. Time for real change for AZ.

City Council - listen to the people! 1) Stop expanding one of the nation's deadliest police forces. 2) Make corrupt contract negotiations open to the public and stop hiding behind closed door sessions. 3) COVID relief funds should go to the public and communities in need, not the cops who are literally killing members of our community. Jeff Barton could not be more incorrect in his assessment that in a way we've already defunded the police. Stop the bullsh*t and adjust the budget accordingly.

I am a voter from Phoenix, Az. I do support the Crisis Management program, that will help to lessen the deaths and injuries that happen when just police units show up to deal with situations. I feel that the maximum possible funding should go to this program.

Thank you, George A. Marsik 85016

    Good day,

I thank and encourage Council to continue its support of the Sustainability, Climate Change, and Office of Urban Heat and Resilience measures.

Prudent & consistent investment in these critical areas is needed to ensure the short and long-term health and vitality of our community and the fundamental health of its people. Further, sustainability is now a precondition of in-market and out-of-market economic development and advancement. Doing good here, will allow us to do well forever

As a Phoenix resident, who believes that equitable public safety should be prioritized as a human right for everyone instead of over-policing and incarceration, I support the Community Assistance Program and insist that 3% of the current Phoenix police budget be allocated to help fund this Community Assistance Program.

As a former MH provider I understand the value of crisis response teams in our community. Many of my former client’s lives were greatly improved, often saved, due to the resources provided by CR teams. The PFD has done an incredible job, with little funding, of creating/building a CR team that is compassionate and dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our community. I strongly urge the City Council to pass the proposed budget and keep the CAP under the PFD.

Do not support this at all, I live in Phx and it is unacceptable and disgusting to keep giving money to one the deadliest police forces in the country, stop expanding the deadliest police force, open police contract negotiations to the public and give COVID relief to the people not the police! put more money into non police community resources.

STOP EXPANDING THE DEADLIEST POLICE FORCE
OPEN POLICE CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS TO THE PUBLIC AND TO GIVE COVID RELIEF FUNDS TO THE PEOPLE NOT POLICE!

Please include the $2.8M for Climate Change and Heat Readiness initiatives in the final budget. It’s time for progressive cities like Phoenix to support real investment in responses to climate change, the development of heat management strategies, and environmental and equity leadership programs. Climate Change and Heat Readiness initiatives are now very important programs to include in the Phoenix City budget and should become permanent and critical parts of the City’s operations.

Stop expanding one of the deadliest police forces in the nation. Open police contract negotiations to the public because the police protections and pay increases directly impact our lives. The $66 million the council is planning for police pay RAISES over the next two years could go to help provide evidence based housing/wellness aid to our community. ARPA money needs to go to the people not the Phoenix PD.
