Do not give Phoenix Police more money. They are killing citizens and supporting white supremacists with no accountability. Covid relief funds should go toward helping the people (housing and food assistance, finding work, affordable childcare, school support), not toward PPD harassing protesters and harming people then needing money for settlements.

We support funding for the Phx Fire Dept's CR Program that helps our community assist individuals with mental health issues get the care they need. The Phoenix Fire Department has managed this outstanding program and their efforts should be applauded. Please support this critical assistance program and let the Phoenix Fire Department continue doing what they do best--help and aid those in need.

I am a District 7 resident and wholeheartedly support Phoenix Fire Dept and trusting them to manage the CAP . This program has been staffed with caring compassionate, willing and able volunteers with grant money . I look forward to seeing it reach it’s full potential. Please keep the outside entities and their money grab away from our citizens . Thank you Mayor Gallego and Council.

The PFD CR Program has been in place many years because Fire Fighters CARE about citizens who need behavioral health care. No other entity can provide 24/7 access, 911/Dispatch, immediate response, parallel EMS, appropriate treatment, appropriate transportation and automatic connection to ongoing care. To remove this service from PFD would be narrow-minded, short sighted and not in the best interest of overall patient care. Support resources for this program and all interests can be addressed.

We support a Phoenix Fire-based CAP. Phoenix Fire has developed the program into major asset for the entire community for more than 25 years. Why would the council even consider entrusting CAP to other hands?

For over 25 years, CAP has been providing mental health/substance abuse support for Phoenix residents under the Phoenix Fire Department. Why reinvent the wheel for an out of state activist group that do not know nor understand what the citizens of Phoenix need? Don't allow this group to come into our state and take over valuable programs. The budget will finally allow the program to reach its fullest potential. PFD has proven their community support for over 25 years, allow them to continue!

As a citizen of Phoenix who has used the services of the Fire Department managed Community Assistance Program , I urge the city council to keep it under the fire department umbrella of service. I also support the proposed city of Phoenix budget.
    Thank you

Increase tree canopy across the city, consider different pavement and sidewalk surfaces to reduce heat.

I support the proposed budget and the excellent decision to expand the Community Assistance Program as part of the Fire Department. This program will be an important part of the City and Fire Department's ability to meet the needs of the community. The Fire Department has built trust in the Phoenix community for generations and this expanded program will allow the Fire Department to continue to help the community.

As a Phoenix taxpayer I fully support the CAP budget AND for its management to remain with the fire department. The FD is the most cost effective means to deliver this service, as creating separate new entities to deliver this service is wasteful, redundant in admin and not proven in effectiveness. The compassion and commitment this program has developed over decades will continue to thrive with the FD. I trust the fire department to care for our citizens. TY

I strongly support this budget, including the $2.8 million for environmental, climate, and heat readiness funding. We need more trees and shade in our city to make life better and more sustainable for all Phoenicians. Thank you to everyone who is leading the charge to make Phoenix a model for sustainability and taking climate change seriously.

Phoenix City Council, please do not give more money to the police. We need a COVID relief fund, low-cost housing, mental health services, more social workers, and a crisis response team that is not linked to the police. Please, invest in the people and not in the violent police force.

After several weeks of your people telling you to stop expanding the deadliest police force, of offering a multitude of ways that you can invest OUR tax dollars toward true community safety, you change nothing. Shame on you for holding public comment and ignoring the demands of your people. PPD is already receiving funding for 175 vacancies, adding 75 new positions is ridiculous. And the people need that money, your people deserve COVID relief, community resources, and NOT police.
