I strongly support the City of Phoenix’s ARPA Fund Strategic Plan – Allocation #1. I am very pleased to see funding to address seniors and aging which is one of Phoenix's most vulnerable populations. Thank you.

I am in full support for allocating $5m from the American Rescue Plan Act to the Office of Arts and Culture to assist local arts and culture organizations and artists. Our community needs thriving arts organizations and our kids especially need safe, fun and educational places to learn. As a board member at the Children's Museum of Phoenix we will utilize these funds to open our doors with confidence and get our children back to exploring the museum with joy!!

These dollars *need* to go back into our community members’ hands. We have been calling on the city to adopt upstream approaches to the problems we face; displacement/houselessness, mental health issues, water/utility support, public education, nutritious foods, public transportation, extra lighting in public parks, green spaces like parks and community gardens, debt relief. Do *not* waste these dollars on “bandaids” to put over the gaping wounds of our society. PHX can create real change here.

These relief funds are for the community and shouldn’t be used for city debt or bonus pay for police. You keep making decisions about the funding that impacts our lives without listening to what we need. For the next $200 million in covid relief, we need a participatory allocation process where phx residents get to decide where the money goes! Put funds towards: Free mental health; rent, utility, income assistance, free transportation, and child care stipends! Housing and heat relief centers!

Many Black, Brown, undocumented, poor, and formerly incarcerated residents have never been able to access COVID relief funds. Between the application processes and restrictions, and long waitlists, thousands of people aren’t getting the relief that is rightfully theirs. We need easily accessible financial assistance and child care stipends now! This use of this relief funding is going to shape the way communities recover from the pandemic, especially communities hit hardest.

Please vote for the ARPA proposal that is $5 million for the arts, including funding for nonprofit arts and culture organizations, individual artists, and community programs. I am a registered voter here in Maricopa County. I want to encourage arts programs in our city. Our outstanding museums and cultural activities, like the Heard Native American Art Museum, give tourists an opportunity to have a cultural experience that can't be found in any other American city.

I strongly support allocating $5 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to the Office of Arts and Culture to assist local arts and culture organizations and artists. This funding will rebuild and strengthen our cultural sector, which was so negatively impacted by the pandemic. And it will help to ensure that people throughout our city have access to vital arts experiences. Thank you for your consideration.

The city's priorities are way out of line with those of our communities. We demand: free public transit, harm reduction and substance use services, and rent, utility, childcare assistance. The city's insistence on using OUR MONEY to pay off your convention center debt is unconscionable. Make public transit free for the rest of the year, especially during the brutal summer months. It will save lives and make a difference in so many lives.

As a volunteer with a number of non-profit organizations that strive to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of our city, I strongly support an allocation of $5 million from the American Rescue Plan Act for the Office of Arts and Culture to allocate where staff, the Commission, and elected officials deem to have the greatest positive impact. Thank you.

I strongly support the Funding for Phoenix Arts and Culture. It’s instrumental to organizations such as the Phoenix Childrens Museum as well as other Arts and Culture for organizations. The support of such organizations is critical in fostering the educational and diverse components that’s desperately needed, which in return has a positive impact on the community. As I board member for the Children’s museum, I first hand understand the impacts it has.

I support the $5M proposal to benefit arts and cultural in Phoenix. As a board member of the Children's Museum of Phoenix, I see how this past year has negatively impacted arts and culture organizations. This support to our arts and culture community is so needed right now to help these organizations recover.

This funding for Phoenix Arts and Culture is critically needed to help not-for-profit arts organizations successfully transition back to a sustainable business model. Thank you.

If this can get funding to the neediest organizations and individuals rather than the powerhouses then I firmly support the plan.

I strongly support the $5 million included in this proposal for the City of Phoenix's Office of Arts and Culture. Particularly as the local economy
recovers, a robust arts program will provide the arts community with a lifeline that will ultimately provide working capital to artists and arts organizations who have been uniquely impacted by the pandemic. I so appreciate Phoenix investing in these individuals and organizations.

What an incredible impact this will make on our Arts & Culture organizations who are working tirelessly to rebuild and recover after such an incredibly difficult time. This funding will help allow us to continue to grow stronger as we reopen and serve our mission.

I strongly encourage City Council to approve $5M in support for arts and culture. Cultural organizations have been hit especially hard by the pandemic. Arts and cultural institutions showcase the vitality and diversity of our community, and boost the local economy. Arizona's economic well-being relies on the arts and culture, and those artists and organizations that are doing this work deserve public support. Please support these efforts
