It is common sense that we are only as healthy as our least healthy neighbor, and this point should be crystal clear during a pandemic, yet this budget still manages to miss the mark. Provide relief for undocumented folks and fund civilian oversight now!

Fund the unsheltered and undocumented communities, during times of crisis police violence has been known to increase, that is why it's critical that you keep the civilian oversight of the police. These budget items that your budget leaves out are critical for the sustainability and resilience of our community- we are only as strong as our weakest link. If you leave out the most vulnerable you hurt your whole city. Do not forget about us Kate & council.

Fund programs and services that will help us recover from the pandemic. Don’t give more $ to the police. Fund programs that make us healthy and safe - housing, jobs, access to food, mental health resources that don’t involve the police. Keep funding programs that keep the police accountable, especially the Office of Accountability and Transparency and the Traumatic Response Unit. Create a privately resourced relief fund for undocumented people impacted by COVID-19.

Create a budget that will support important members of our community INCLUDING undocumented individuals. A responsible budget would also fund civilian oversight. Invest in people and communities.

We need relief for our neighbors, and that means everyone. To be sitting on money and not distributing it is disappointing. I am asking we provide relief for our undocumented community. We must also move forward with the civilian review board, this will keep us all safe.

I think we need a budget that includes ALL of the people, including the undocumented ones.

Hi! My name is Lola Levesque and I am a lifelong resident of Phoenix. This budget decision should be focused on what keeps us healthy and safe. I want to see the budget prioritize recovery from this pandemic which includes funding the food access plan. Jobs, mental health resources and housing not policing. There needs to be a COVID-19 relief fund for undocumented people. No more funding for police.

The Phoenix police cannot be trusted to oversee themselves, and giving them more money while they refuse to be accountable to their community is irresponsible. Arizona has one of the highest rates of incarceration in the country, and the police and courts are responsible. Fully fund police civilian oversight, and stop increasing funding for police. Instead, invest in supporting people's lives through housing assistance, public transportation, physical and mental health, and basic income.

I am deeply disappointed that this budget does not prioritize the needs of our most vulnerable community members; instead it prioritizes a police force that continually fails its community. We must provide economic relief to those most struggling, including our undocumented neighbors. It is also essential that we fund civilian oversight over our police force, ensuring that they will be held accountable. People's lives and well-beings are essential, not the police.

When the term "watchdog" is used as a synonym for oversight, it connotes meanness, but think about what a literal well-trained watchdog does: It makes sure that lives and property are protected. NO organization, especially one charged with protecting the people, should be run without objective supervision that insures fairness, adherence to stated policy, and respect for human life. Fund Civilian Oversight of the PPD.

This budget proposal is just wrong. During this pandemic there should be more funding in place for our undocumented citizens as well as our communities. There should be funding for our people not the police. Why fund corporations that didn’t lose revenue in this pandemic. Instead of giving the cops more money focus on funding the civilian oversight program. That is more beneficial for our communities than grossly over funding the police. FIGHT FOR OUR PEOPLE!!!

Fund relief for undocumented people. Fund civilian oversight of PPD. This budget is elitist and exclusionary.

Funds should be allocated to those in need such as refugees, the homeless, and those experiencing loss of income due to the virus. People need food to feed their families, jobs that don't require them to expose their lives, modes of transportation that don't expose their lives, and services for mental and physical help. I think the police force first needs to be held to high standards of operation prior to supplying additional funds. For now, let's start with the people of our community.

In the midst of this pandemic, our city officials need to work to finance comprehensive relief programs for our undocumented community members and continue to fund civilian oversight initiatives!

This budget MUST include relief for undocumented folks and funding for civilian oversight. More police NEVER makes our communities safer. Please support the lives and well being of Phoenix community members.

On behalf of the refugee, asylum seeking and uncdocumented communities, I oppose the budget. We need more funding and relief specifically for our migrant communities and vulnerable populations. We also need funding for the civilian oversight and not just policing.

I want to see a budget that directly addresses the COVID-19 situation by providing needed urgent financial support and relief to our neighbors who need it most, especially folks who are undocumented. Fund programs that look at the big picture of public health and safety (jobs, food, mental health resources, housing support, community programs), no new money to the police or law enforcement. Please maintain the funding for newly implemented police oversight.

On behalf of struggling undocumented people in Phoenix i demand money being used to create an undocumented relief fund during these times.
