Fully fund the OAT and CRB with at least $3million. Reduce Phoenix PD's budget by 25% and reallocate to other more productive community services (mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence crisis response, social work, etc.)

Please fully fund the CRB with $3 million. In addition, please reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs, instead of cutting those programs by 25%. The PPD do not need a $25 million increase.

I request that the City of Phoenix fully funds OAT and the CRB with $3 million. I also request that the City of Phoenix reallocate their $25 million budget increase to mental health and youth programs and also back into education.

Increasing the Phoenix Police Department’s budget will not create thriving communities. Instead, it will continue to put those most impacted by police violence at a higher risk. The city must redirect these funds to emergency response programs that don’t kill or harm Black people. The city cannot claim to care about our community while giving MORE money to the very institution that harms and terrorizes. When the City of Phoenix ignores the voices of Black people, it demonstrates anti-Blackness

Residents love our Phoenix Police Department and stand by them and their families. The police hating council members need to find other employment. We are tired of this garbage about defunding our PD. Social workers taking their place is a joke

Please allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget. Mental health for youths in our community should be a top priority. I urge the council to fund youth programs and mental health services by $25 million. Raising the budget for both of these is imperative to gain trust in our community and give our youths the resources they need to deal with any issues they may have.

I request that the Phoenix City Council fully funds OAT and CRB with $3 million. The City of Phoenix should also reallocate their $25 million budget increase to mental health and youth programs, instead of cutting those programs by 25% in the 2020 - 2021 budget on June 8th.

We demand the city reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs instead of giving the Phoenix Police Department a $25 million increase for salaries.

Invest in the people rather than police. The police have plenty of equipment to include many military grade weapons to include rocket launchers and grenade launchers. They have the manpower and will to take down entire city blocks in the matter of seconds. Show the people of Phoenix you’re committed to developing our communities and set an example for the rest of the country. It is proven that investment in the community will decrease the need of over policing our communities.

The Phoenix Police Department has proven that diversifying and implementing various training methods have not reduced the number of excessive force of power and police brutality in this state. Redirect the funds to DIRECT and EFFECTIVE policies and programs that will create a true healthy and safe environment for all civilians. The City of Phoenix is notorious for two things: Being 51st in Education and having the most cases of Police killing civilians in the country. WE MUST DO BETTER.

I support funding our police & leaving the budget proposal as is. Our police deal with the darkest sides of our society - the abusers, rapists, murders, drug dealers, human traffickers. If someone wants to defund them, be prepared to personally show up when one of these crimes is happening to serve and protect. Put yourself in that situation & take that level of responsibility for others, with no regard for your own life. HONEST PEOPLE HAVE RIGHTS TOO AND ONE OF THOSE RIGHTS IS PROTECTION.

I fully support the reallocating of $$$ form the PHX PD department and funding the CRB in order to aid other, much needed programs like mental health, and youth programs. You have heard the voices in every city across this nation. There is systemic inequality in our system and an out-sized focus on militarized police force. We need structural change, and it start here. Fund mental health programs, fund social work programs, fund education, fund community organizations. Let this be the first step

Please re-allocate some of the funds away from public safety and placed into education, mental health, housing, healthcare, and community enrichment programs. Please consider giving an increase in funds of $2.5M to the Citizen Oversight Board.
