We demand the city reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs instead of giving the Phoenix Police Department a $25 million increase for salaries.

I fully support the reallocating of $$$ form the PHX PD department and funding the CRB in order to aid other, much needed programs like mental health, and youth programs. You have heard the voices in every city across this nation. There is systemic inequality in our system and an out-sized focus on militarized police force. We need structural change, and it start here. Fund mental health programs, fund social work programs, fund education, fund community organizations. Let this be the first step

I demand the city reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs instead of giving the Phoenix Police Department a $25 million increase for salaries. Prevention and social intervention reduce crime over time and strengthen communities. These social services fight for resources daily while police receive raises. People are paying attention and want alternatives to policing; please listen.

Please invest in the people rather than police. Show the people of Phoenix you’re committed to developing our communities and set an example for the rest of the country. It has to be worth a try at least.

Approved budget as is. Find funding in July to fully fund OATS for the FY2020-21 after economic data is available from April and May. Many programs in Police could be reduced to offset cost of $2.5M, for example delay one year of vehicle replacements, delay one police academy class for six to nine months or sell all fixed wing aircraft and eliminate operating costs with ASU.

Please listen to the public currently crying for justice.
We need more money for homeless, elderly, mentally ill, people with drug and alcohol problems. We need more facilities AWAY from the HSC. The area near the HSC is riddled with drugs, sex crimes, violent crimes, theft, people preying on those in need of our help.
Please adequately fund the community oversight of police. I don't know how much is needed
Please add MORE funds to human services programs THROUGHOUT PHOENIX AREA. Not just HSC

I oppose the current budget. The amount allocated for public safety exceeds nearly every other category - including public infrastructure projects and community services. I urge you not to increase public safety funding - ideally, decrease their funding from last year and reallocate toward community enrichment, especially in poorer areas within Phoenix.

We demand the city reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs instead of giving the Phoenix Police Department a $25 million increase for salaries. City Council, listen to the appropriate voices and action in opposition of this funding allocation. Phoenix Police Department does not deserve a reward for being ranked as the most violent police force in the country. Invest in our communities.

I oppose adopting the 2020-21 budget. Funds to the Phoenix police department must be reconsidered. The Phoenix police department does not need a raise. Instead, the community can use this money for housing, health needs, and community development.

I strongly oppose any budget that includes an increase in police funding. I urge the council to reallocate those funds to community programs. Additionally, I do not support a budget without a fully funded Civilian Review Board and Office of Oversight and Accountability for Phoenix PD.

The city needs to reallocate $25 million to mental health and youth programs instead of giving the Phoenix Police Department a $25 million increase for salaries. The City of Phoenix deserves better.

I support keeping the budget as is. Public safety ( fire/emt/police) are all needed in the city and if you take money away from this you will be making the city more dangerous for all. The apartment fire last night was an example of this. Thankfully the fire department was able to put it out before it reached a power substation, but they had the help of Phoenix police making sure they were safe. Defunding public safety will defund the city as businesses and people will leave for their safety.
