I support law enforcement 100%. A society that chooses war against the police better learn to make peace with its criminals.

I do not support any budget that does not fully fund the CRB/OAT and would like to see the police budget decreased and those funds set aside for community led emergency services.

DO NOT DEFUND THE POLICE. We need to defund Katie Gallego and her stupidity. All you ass clowns in charge of this will be voted out come re-election. Don’t think we won’t forget. Tick Tock!

Please keep as is. Things will not change for the better, they will get worse! Anarchy is not the answer!

I hope city council realizes a defunded police department leads to increase in crime, which leads to businesses and tax payers leaving the city. Which leads to less revenue for the city. How do you propose to fund everything when all of those things occur?

I support first responders as they are. Defunding them would cause potential for more danger and would be a disservice to the community. With proper funding it could allow for the potential of more training for officers.

I oppose the draft budget as presented because the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board needs to be fully funded. The City Council needs to take action to address systemic racism, which begins with devoting the necessary funds to these extremely important line items. I support increasing funding form the proposed $400,000 to a minimum of $2.5-$4 million, as was originally intended. Police need to protect and serve, threaten and rule.

We need to pass the budget as is. Our police department, its training, and officers are vital to our community and our safety. Please pass the budget as proposed.

Please vote to add $2.5 million from the contingency fund to fund the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board. The time to act is now. Let's improve the Phoenix PD by holding it to the highest standard via civilian oversight, and let's get started on a path to improve public trust in the department.

I strongly oppose any legislation that increases the funding of the phoenix police department. Any budget that does not decrease the funding of the phoenix police department is a budget that should not be passed.

It is time we treat our Phoenix PD better. What a terrifying community this would be without these brave men and women who sacrifice all to keep us safe. They know that ALL lives matter and we need to prove that they matter as well. The hate I’ve seen thrown their way is disgusting. Let’s heal our community.

too much money is spent on arresting persons for minor offenses. I feel the police need total reconstruction with emphasis on social services. Arresting persons for things like marijuana is a waste of my money. Health care and education are more important then harrassing people with minor offenses. Police need total psychological evaluations to remove or prevent aggressive persons in the force.

I, 100 % support the Phx PD. Cutting funding will have a negative impact on the community

All those who oppose what have you done to ensure your community stays safe for you and your family? Police sign up for a job where they go to situations you call them for. Are there bad apples sure give me a single profession that doesn’t! Police are the ONLY profession continuously ostracized for the bad apples. You want to defund the police or cut their budgets remember that means demanding someone to handle your calls for help will be cut because there won’t be staffing. Think about it!

I oppose the current budget and urge that you reallocate a majority of the funds allocated for PHXPD to public services. The current budget would spend more on the PD than on the library, Parks & Rec, the Convention Center, HHS, the Office of Art and Culture, Planning and Development, housing, Community & Economic Development, neighborhood services, PCDIC, and the court combined. PDs that have implemented increased training have not seen a decrease in brutality. Direct the money to our community.

I strongly oppose the proposed $944,680,555 budget for the public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community is asking that you instead increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. We must prioritize healing and growth in our community over further militarization of our police force. It's time to focus on sustainable communities, justice, and dismantling systematic oppression and police brutality.

I oppose the current budget and demand an appropriate plan of action in response to police violence, of which Phoenix has one of the worst records. Funds need to be allocated to the Office of Accountability and Transparency, along with a Civilian Review Board. A checks and balances system is now necessary for the current system of law enforcement that has so far failed in its duty. I also support the reallocation of PDD funds to sectors in public service that have a higher need.
