This ban will hurt our sales. We sell a lot of menthol cigarettes to adult tobacco consumers who are 21+ and our customers would go to neighboring cities to purchase their products instead of our business.

Its very frustrating that customers are not able to buy a product that they are used to for years and it will hurt a lot of businesses

This ban will affect my sales and the 12 employees we employ. We card and follow the law. We do not support children using tobacco which is why we card and make sure we don't sell it to anyone under the legal age of 21. This ban will hurt sales and sales will go to neighboring cities. Adults should have a right to choose.

I am Nicole Olmstead, Government Relations Director for the American Heart Association. We have watched the tobacco industry target their products time and again towards youth and young adults, all with the hopes of creating a new customer basse. Flavored tobacco is no exception. We ask that the City of Phoenix direct the City Attorney to explore options to address flavored tobacco in Phoenix.

This is a family run business that helps support my two sons. By making flavored tobacco illegal a large part of my income will be taken away which would hurt my ability to continue paying for college educations. Thank you.

My name is Andrew Loubert, a long-time resident of Phoenix (Dist. 6), a taxpayer and an active voter. I understand that a ban on all flavored tobacco products, including cigars, is being considered by the City Council. As a cigar consumer that enjoys flavored cigars I am concerned about this encroachment on my rights and see this ordinance as over-reach to address the issue of E-cigarettes. A ban on adults buying flavored cigars is governmental overreach. I urge you to oppose this bad idea.

This ban will only create a stronger black market! Every store I go to they ID and are responsible and only sell to adults over the age of 21. There is no need to harm these responsible business. Teens are getting their tobacco products from online or the black market which this proposed ban will not eradicate. Furthermore, I as an adult would like to maintain my freedom to enjoy flavored tobacco products just like I am able to enjoy flavored liquor products.

I oppose the proposed tobacco flavor ban. I am very diligent, as are all my employees, at making sure my tobacco customers are over 21 years old. I believe adults should be able to make their decisions without government interference.

The impact that advertising has on young kids in regards to vaping and flavored tobacco has been proven time and time again. I am the mother of two very young daughters and want my children to grow up in a society where their health is a priority. Flavored tobacco products need to go.

I'm Debra Wilson, Executive Director, American Heart Association - Phoenix Division & a Phoenix resident. Flavored products are being used by 97% of middle and high school students using e-cigarettes. 62% of Phoenicians support a comprehensive & enforceable ordinance restricting the sale of all flavored tobacco products. The City attorney should research all options to address the sale of flavored tobacco products, one that will withstand the industry efforts to create loopholes & exemptions.

The health risks of tobacco and vaping are well documented and more profound in children. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona’s (BCBSAZ) mission is to inspire health in Arizonans. The sale of flavored tobacco and vaping products goes against this mission and increases the likelihood of children becoming addicted and developing serious long-term health risks. BCBSAZ supports the adoption of an ordinance prohibiting the sale of these dangerous products.

My name is Mark Miller I am the president of the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance "AFMA". We represent the convenience store chains as well as independent stores and grocery chains throughout Phoenix. Our AFMA retailers take their responsibility seriously to only sell age-restricted products to our customers over 21 years of age. We train our employees to card and verify age before selling any age-restricted products. We are in favor of a well planned out state solution on this issue.
