I oppose this agenda item. Criminalizing phoenix residents has been illustrated over and over and over again to be ineffective. We need investments in our people, including our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. Please vote no.
I oppose item 63. This is an obvious ploy to displace and criminalize our unhoused neighbors that have nowhere else to go, and voting in favor of this item is a direct attack on their rights. The way to address houselessness is NOT to attack and criminalize those experiencing it, but to provide more resources and programs to eliminate the poverty that causes it. Please, spend your time and effort on initiatives that address houselessness with compassion and efficacy, not more criminalization.
The unsheltered community needs our help and the city is trying to criminalize their survival. The only right move to OPPOSE this measure and increase support to the people that the city’s policies have forced to live in the streets.
I am opposed to Agenda item #63 which only serves to increase criminalization of Phoenix’s houseless population. The city has already spent enough time and money trying to displace an already vulnerable group of people. Abandoning the easements now will continue to put people at risk and will increase the gentrification of our city.
What happens when one loses the roof over their head? Well in Phoenix they also lose their dignity and if this passes, they lose their freedom because they will wind up in jail and let’s not forget this includes families with little kids who experience homelessness. It is not just single adults who are homeless.
Strongly oppose this agenda item. We can't continue to criminalize members of our community! We should be working to find ways to support our unsheltered neighbors instead of finding new ways to harass them.
Strongly oppose!! and will be voting out people
If they’re up for election and support this. No one who actually lives here would benefit from this so just throw it out
