I support the increase in funding for Police and asking Phoenix to solve the surging violent crime problem by hiring and retaining more patrol officers.

While I feel this budget does not go far enough to support the Phoenix Police Department, any reduction to what is being proposed would baffle me. Here is why, crime is on the rise, Phoenix has 15% fewer officers today than in 2008, even with the population increasing by 7%+, morale is horrible, and hiring is next to impossible. Public safety should be the first priority for this council. Please do not let us down.

Don’t get rid of open positions to fund something else. Our Phoenix PD needs our support. How does it seem right to overwhelm, overwork, and burn out the officers already there? Let’s bring in more exemplary candidates. Not force them out and be left to hire on a whim. Back the Blue! Let’s be the example all other PD departments want to follow.

We support our police. We would like to see an increase in our police force as we do not want our city to become dangerous like Portland, Oregon. So they should be well paid & you have other options in this budget to make cuts.

Lawlessness is noticeably increasing in our city. We really need a bigger presence and visibility of law enforcement officers on our streets and in the community. Please back the blue by passing this budget and anything else they need to make this city safer!

I am writing in support of adding funding for the Police Activities League PAL Elite program. PAL provides an outlet for our youth to become part of a b-ball family by providing positive police/community interaction through basketball. My youngest is a member of the PAL Elite team and has shown an amazing uplift of confidence along with increased character. Many student athletes have received college scholarships as a benefit of playing with the PAL program. Add funding for the PAL program. THX

I support Phoenix increasing the annual budget for Police by over $41M. For the following points I fully support the increase: Phoenix is in a patrol officer crisis with patrols being at the lowest levels in well over a decade. Detectives are now being moved off their homicide investigations & moved back onto patrol duty. This is dangerous as it means the City is delaying violent people from being identified, caught, & taken off the streets. These people assault, rob, & ignore security cams.

Support this item & necessary funding of our Phoenix Police Department. As you well know, Phoenix crime (violent and non-violent property crime) is growing at alarming levels. Public safety is being degraded. A well-ordered city benefits all who live or visit the city. We need to hire and retain more patrol officers to ensure the safety of all in our city. We were once "best run city government in the world". Let's strive to return to that. Thank you.

Please continue to support & fund our police. Without them will have a lawless environment that I do not care to live in. Thank you.

Fund the police. Many officers are either retiring or quitting making it impossible to police violent crimes which are increasing because Biden has opened our borders. Without funding you will see Arizona turn into a Mad Max territory.

Please continue to support our Phoenix PD. The WSJ reports in other areas that have tried this, crime increased. Why would we want to have less protection during such uncertain times? There are cities that get little or slow response to 911 calls, we need our police departments fully staffed and to do that they need to be fully funded.
