I oppose this vaccine mandate. It is unlawful. Government forcing a vaccine injection against anyone's will is a crime against humanity. It is not about public safety at all. The covid-19 vaccine does not prevent the spread of the virus. It makes one a carrier. Phoenix first responders were hailed as heroes during the pandemic. Now they are being coerced into getting it or risk losing their career. City council members who vote for the vax mandate result in a decrease in public safety.
Medical status is a person's private information. Based upon Az Constitution Article 2 Section 8, a person shall not be disturbed of his private affairs. 9th Amendment of the United States Constitution states, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." We the people have inalienable rights that are more comprehensive than these referenced items. Drop the mandates or PHX will fall economically.
CV-19 is an airborne virus that can only be eliminated by herd immunity not mandated shots. 98.2% of people contracting it survive. The statistics and information regarding how to and who should protect themselves is voluminous and clear for people to make their own determination to get the jab or not. Continuing to limit and remove our personal liberties via illegal mandates will not stand in court and will not be stood for at the ballot box. Get back to fixing the streets, reducing taxes.
The City of Phoenix already has Police and FIre worker shortages. Vote NO on vaccine mandates and respect the employees freedom to make their own medical decisions.
While I believe the vaccine is beneficial for the majority, each person should be given the choice to decide if it is right for them or not. Mandating it for anyone, especially those that risk their lives to protect and serve seems unfair and a violation of their constitutional rights.
No one should be forced to undergo a medical procedure for employment. What's next, health scans with your resume before an interview? This is a slippery slope that must not be taken. I oppose.
Please vote NO to city mandates as this is an unconstitutional action that invades employees private health decisions. There have been a number of Federal Court orders already that have shown these types of mandates are an egregious over reach of government, regardless of whether Federal, State, or local.
Protect our state from unnecessary lawsuits, loss of employees, negative impact on the economy, and lawlessness.
I oppose a vaccine mandate. Americans should be able to make medical decisions privately with their doctors based on their own health. Individuals who have had COVID have natural immunity and better protection from the virus than the vaccinated. Healthy Americans have a 99%+ rate of survival. Many simply don't need to take the risks of an experimental vaccine. No one should lose their ability to earn an income because they do not take a potentially unnecessary vaccine.
I strongly oppose the vaccine mandate foremost because of freedom of choice and imposition of freedom to choose. Additionally, I have heard from many first responders (police, fire & EMTs) they will not be getting the shot; therefore, creating a massive reduction in services that are much needed in Phoenix, especially South Phoenix. As former Phoenix PD retired, I vehemently oppose the Vaccine Mandate! Phoenix is already short of Police Officers, and this looks like “defund the Police” in a different manner. First Responders are not guinea pigs for an experimental vaccine, and many will leave and be hired by cities surrounding Phoenix, which will welcome fully trained public safety personnel.
We are natives of Phoenix and also hold a City of Phoenix law enforcement job. You are about to lose wonderful, selfless, and very tenured officers, firefighters, and support staff over this grossly unconstitutional overgrab of power. Shame on you Mayor Gallego and Vice Mayor Garcia. You have the ability to stand behind those that everyone in our city needs most and you are letting us all down. I've never been less proud to live here. You can fix this.
As a wife of a COP employee I am worried this mandate will further reduce the Fire and PD workforce. They’ve been extremely short staffed as is and my husband has been working tirelessly. Worker morale is at an all-time low and this mandate will only drive away the remaining good employees you have left. If you do not remove this mandate, you will be depriving the citizens of Phoenix of a safe and effective public safety system. They deserve to have their tax dollars honored. Do the right thing.
Support & affirm our first responders' Constitutional rights to determine for themselves what medical interventions are right for them. They're closest to and most familiar with their own individual health, and best-positioned to weigh relative risks that they encounter. Courts are finding substantial Constitutional issues with mandates - City of Phoenix' best course is to err on the side of citizens' rights. Inform, educate, and honor & trust first responders' individual decisions. Thank you.
This mandate is unconstitutional. In passing the mandate, we are violating our own people and have the potential to lose numerous first responders and law enforcement. So many have come to our country to have the opportunity for voice and to have an opinion.
I write as a fellow Arizona resident and stand with my Phoenix city brothers and sisters i plead you to NOT pass a vaccine mandate on Phoenix city employees! The vaccine should be personal choice; individuals should be able to decide based on their own circumstances. Furthermore, it is unconstitutional.
Please DO NOT participate in this Devastating narrative those in federal positions want you to impose. Courts are consistently recognizing this as inappropriate. Please respect our residents, employees, and Constitutions. Hundreds of thousands of deaths have resulted from withheld therapies, and mandating a vaccine only introduces new issues from new injuries and deaths to lost livelihoods. The vaccine is great for those who choose it. For others, there are highly effective, safer therapies. TY.

They use universal precautions to begin with and are the backbone of any crisis. Imagine 9/11 without first responders.
