It doesn’t make any sense to ban flavors. Wouldn’t the same argument hold true for alcohol - they should not use creativity in a way that promotes positive interpersonal relationships? Reducing vaping creativity that promotes positivity for a much larger number than teens is not a good solution for poor parenting, insufficient adolescent education and mental health issues. Addressing these concerns at the core would be insurmountably more effective than applying a bandaid that hurts many more.

Flavors have saved my life if you take away flavors more people will die

As a parent of two school aged children and advocate for students I fully support banning flavored e-cigarettes and vapes. The companies target kids - Young children are becoming addicted. Let’s put children’s lives over tobacco/vape profits. Who is cotton candy vape really marketed for ? Let’s get real.

As a mother of 3 I want to protect my children and restrict the sale of flavored tobacco. Children should not be sucked into this market and be targeted by using “flavored” to get them hooked. Horrible that this is even a debate as it is clear common sense! Parents stand up and be better! Our children deserve better.

Since my boyfriend has started vaping he has been able to successfully quit smoking. He is healthier, does not have a prolonged cough, can taste food and does not frequently become out of breath. If it wasn’t for vaping and the different flavor options I don’t believe he would be as successful and feeling as good as he does.

I strongly oppose. Flavors are necessary to save lives. Adults need these products to quit traditional cigarettes. Banning flavored e-liquids infringes on my rights. Being able to purchase cigarettes and not my normal Carmel e-liquid is absurd.

It took many flavors to search through till I found a couple I could stop buying cigarettes. Now I use several to keep me from smoking. Why would you want to take options to quit smoking away?

The only reason flavor vaping is allowed is because no one wants to fight the cigarette companies because no one can afford to go up against them. Their only agenda is to get children addicted so when their older customers die they have new income. It’s sickening!

Denying harm reduction alternatives to a known deadly addiction is reckless and irresponsible. We do know what is in e-cigarettes/vapes, it has been documented as well as legit manufacturers would allow you to view process and ingredients upon request from regulating body. This is a false accusation as most major arguments againstjust the science of vape products are fiction designed to create fear and misunderstanding.

As a college student and DJ, I have seen first hand the effects of flavored vapes on people and friends. These companies market their “yummy” flavors that often mimic sodas and candies to teens and young adults. Surprisingly, I found many people at my high and middle schools had been using them. And when asked why it was always “it looks cool” or “I like the flavor.” Flavors aren’t needed. If people are using this to stop smoking, the cigarettes don’t taste like candy. Neither does this need to.

Vaping got me off cigarettes and since I’ve switched to vaping, I’ve felt much better physically and found my attitude much lighter. Cigarettes are not something we should be limited to, neither should flavors be limited. Without flavors I would of never switched over and been able to leave cigarettes behind.

We currently do not know the chemicals used in e-cigarettes/vapes. We also know that we have seen incidents of deaths and lung injures associated with vaping. E-cigarettes can be modified with extra strength cartridges which can dose higher levels of nicotine over cigarettes. Making them highly addictive. This is an unregulated industry with no accountability. These products are easily accessible by our children and we know they are harmful.

I am in support of requiring tobacco purchasers to be 21 years old, however, I strongly oppose banning flavors. Alcohol comes in many flavors, many of the same flavors that would be banned, and these are many of the same flavors that are offered in legal bars/restaurants. I'm not sure why vaping flavors have received so much focus, and not alcohol flavors. There are many things we can do to protect minors from tobacco, but restricting those legally purchasing them should not be one of them.

I'm disgusted at the bots leaving comments here. Phoenix deserves better!! 500,000 people die each year from the use of deadly tobacco. Flavored vapor products save lives and play a key role in adults being able to quit. Do not remove my choice as an adult for the indiscretions of youth, their friends or bad retailers. ADULTS RIGHTS MATTER!

Federal vaping age is 21. Any further restrictions on vaping would be detrimental to the health of adults trying to quit smoking. This proposed ban is brought to you by those who benefit from keeping people smoking. Don’t fall for it. Banning flavored e-liquid will inevitably lead both adults and youth back to cigarettes. Vaping saves lives.

Ask yourself why so many of the comments supporting this ban are almost identical. Many of them are fraudulent. Made by people that don't live here. Some are leaders of anti vaping organizations from the east coast including Meredith Berkman from PAVE. Dont let outsiders make decisions that impact the health and businesses in Phoenix. The science says vaping is less harmful than smoking.

I oppose the flavor ban on vaping products. I came in the USA when I was 16 from small country in Europe. I started smoking cigarettes when I was 13 years old (there was no age limit to purchase). At that time as 16 years old I was finding placed to purchase cigarettes and kept smoking until I was 30 years old. I'm almost 7 years tobacco free and after few attempts to quit cold turkey guess what helped me? Vaping and flavors, flavors such as strawberry, mint, cake, etc. Adults love flavors too!

As a teen, I see all the flavors the industry puts out, such as mixed berry and banana ice, which make it seem a lot like candy to entice a younger audience to try it.

If retailers are forced to stop selling certain tobacco products, then customers will simply drive to another store in a neighboring city or purchase their preferred products on-line.

I work for vape industry and I quit smoking with the help of vaping 2 years ago. If this is a health matter of the kids ban all tobacco products including marlboros, camels, chews and the rest including Vapes. Then I won’t oppose to this ban. But leaving big tobacco in the market and banning vape products only is not fair. A bad friend will offer your kid a cigarette like they’ve been doing for over 100 years. Banning vape products is not the solution. Ban the ones who try to market to kids.
