As a mother of four teens, I urge you to ban all flavored tobacco products in the city of Phoenix because flavors hook kids! The latest CDC figures show that the majority of teens who vape use flavored e-cigarettes, and 37% of those are choosing menthol flavor. And menthol cigarettes have been directly marketed to African-American communities for decades. Please protect kids in all communities from the predatory behavior of Big Tobacco!

I STRONGLY OPPOSE this flavor ban. At 36 years old, I used watermelon to help me quit smoking after none of the NRT's failed to help me. By enforcing a flavor ban there will be dangerous black market created. And worse yet, vapers will go back to cigarettes and current smokers will continue with combustible cigarettes.

Parents Against Vaping e-cigarettes, PAVe, a national grassroots movement of parents, including many here in Phoenix, supports a ban on all flavored tobacco products.
We won’t stand by and let Big Tobacco target our kids. We get letters every day from parents whose lives are upended by their kids’ severe addiction to flavored e-cigarettes, which contain extremely high levels of nicotine causing anxiety, depression & permanent cognitive change to an adolescent’s developing brain. Enough is enough

I smoked 4 24 yrs, tried EVERYTHING Numerous times 2 try 2 quit smoking without success. Vaping helped me quit smoking the very same day, & i used a glazed doughnut & a applejacks flavors 2 quit smoking. I STRONGLY OPPOSE THIS BILL! Science shows vaping is MUCH MUCH safer than smoking, & i should have the right 2 quit smoking & use a flavor of my choosing. U dont give an alcoholic vodka flavored water, only having tobacco flavors is the same thing! Prohibition does NOT work. Freedom of choice!

I support the ban against flavored tobacco products. I am a 16 year old high schooler who sees how the tobacco industry targets their products to teens. I want to prevent my generation from getting addicted. Thank You for looking into this big issue.

I oppose indefinitely, Flavor bans create a dangerous black market. Flavors are one of the key factors to help people quit combustible tobacco. Adults should be able to choose how they want to quit.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is proud to serve thousands of families. We see Club members starting to use vaping products at a young age. This can lead to nicotine addictions, pulmonary issues, and more health issues. They jeopardize short & long term health, and we should be aligned in opposing the sale of these flavored products to youth.
We hope you ask the City Attorney’s Office to research options to create a comprehensive ordinance to address the sale of flavored tobacco products.

My mom, myself and my wife all quit smoking using flavored eliquid. It was critical to have flavors far away from tobacco for us to do this. We have Tobacco21 as law now and teen vaping is way down. do not force vapers back to deadly cigarettes by banning flavors.

Flavored nicotine meets the need for nicotine without the cigarettes. Many prefer to vape rather than smoke due to the flavors. When I smoked I was short of breath. Now I enjoy my green apple vape and I can breath! Cigarettes taste like ashes. Adults like flavors too!

I fully oppose this ban on flavored eliquids.
Vaping will continue to be a better option than smoking in so many ways. Flavored liquids give people who want to quit smoking a variety of options and it isn’t fair to ban these options. Flavored products are what helped me and so many others quit smoking. Since flavored products, I am proud to say that I haven’t touched a cigarette since 2016. I feel better, cleaner, and altogether have the ability to breathe better. Do the right thing.

While I understand kids might like flavors, adults like and need flavors too. Adult smokers need flavors to help them quit smoking or stay smoke free by using vapor products. While I understand kids might want to vape, I think you should use the laws to prevent kids from getting their hands on flavored vapor products and not ban them! The law is good enough for alcohol, it should be good enough for vapor products!

Plainly, many of the arguments for these bans are plainly false.

I absolutely oppose! I have been cigarette free now for five years and I would not be able to say this without vaping. T21 is already in effect to help curb underage consumption and I feel that responsible retailers should be able to sell without fear of potentially going out of business. Adults 21 years and older should be allowed to decide what tobacco/nicotine products they buy and consume.

In Phoenix, the easy availability of flavored tobacco is contributing to an increase in youth tobacco use of epic proportion. Kid-friendly flavors make tobacco products more attractive to kids because they mask the harsh taste of tobacco. The City Attorney needs to research all options open to the City of Phoenix to address the sale of flavored tobacco, one that will withstand the industry efforts to create loopholes and exemptions that ensure they will still have access to our youth.
