I oppose this measure. We should be focusing on moving money away from the phoenix police and into services fro folks experiencing homelessness. We also need to stop special protections for the most violent police department in the country.

As a resident of District 8, I fully support reallocating funds to Phoenix’s Human Services Campus. Unlike Mr. Garcia, I welcome the men and women of the Phoenix Police Department into my neighborhood and really appreciate all their efforts to reduce crime. If Mr. Garcia actually spent some time actually working with residents, police and other city departments to address the many ongoing issues in my neighborhood, to include homelessness, the quality of life for residents would increase.

This council has spent over $1.3 BILLION paying for the salaries and benefits of Phoenix cops. These are the same cops that have a proven record of violent racism, targeting protesters, and celebrating white supremacy. Fund resources for our unsheltered community but those resources must come from this violent and unaccountable department.

REALLOCATE FOR BETTER NEIGHBORHOODS. Carlos and his anti police club are self serving, unprofessionals who only care about how they look on social media BUT give two craps about how their neighborhoods look and how district 8 is feeling. We are over run, police are tired, and the streets are filthy. He has more than enough funding for his little club...put the money where is matters

City council and Mayor, our demands are simple! We want true public safety, and we want you to use your power to stop cops from killing and caging Black folx with impunity. Stop supporting the anti-Black neo-Nazi killing machine that is the Phoenix PD. Instead, protect the community by defunding the Phoenix Police Department and terminate City Manager Ed Zuercher. Ed is responsible for allowing Chief Jeri’s deadly cops to behave so despicably. Blood is on your hands. Do something. #DefundPhxPD

Fund the OAT (Office of Accountability and Transparency). More and more information keeps coming out that shows just how racist and corrupt the Phoenix Police Dept is. We demand civilian oversight that is investigative, transparent and independent. The residents of Phoenix deserve BOTH police accountability and resources to help our unsheltered neighbors. There is enough money for both. Fund the OAT *and* support the houseless community.

We need to hold our officers accountable for the racism, hate, and injustice they have visited on our communities. This cannot happen without centralized accountability and explicitly anti-racist oversight. Vote against this, drop all the charges against BLM protestors, and do your part to promote the system of justice, equality, and freedom you purport to uphold.

City council, an independent investigation is NOT enough to remedy the depth of deceit and violence in this toxic Phoenix Police Department! There is enough evidence right now to disqualify EVERY police report and EVERY piece of testimony that came from the tactical squad!! The cops that are still assigned to protests are lying in an attempt to silence dissent against them. Use the power your office affords you and do your job! Demand MCAO to drop the charges and end political prosecution now!!

Council and Mayor! Do your job! Publicly denounce these charges! Demand MCAO adjust the motion to dismiss on the 10/17 cases to be with prejudice. Pass a resolution to call on MCAO to drop ALL charges including - 7/18, 8/9, 10/3 and any other outlying charges - with prejudice. Demand municipal court dismiss all misdemeanor charges. Demand MCAO hold the officers who lied under oath accountable, and fire all prosecutors involved in the protest charges! #DroptheChargesMCAO #EndPoliticalProsecutions

We are outraged at the latest news about Phoenix PD. We demand that the officers we already know aided in the creation of the neo-nazi challenge coin and/or kept or shared it are immediately fired! Fiire all the officers involved with the neo-Nazi coin, including: Lt Ben Moore, George Herr, Jeffrey Howell, Glen Neville, Jay Scott, John Sticca, Bury Bryce. Fire all other officers not currently named that helped create, share or keep this disgusting coin that celebrates PPD’s neo Nazi culture.

City Council and Mayor, you want to defund Police accountability but you won’t defund the police. It seems if one were appalled by the actions of Phoenix PD they would publicly denounce them and work to make them accountable. Yet you all sit by and do nothing. We have more than 20 people still facing prison time because they were targeted and slapped with false gang charges by lying dirty cops, April Sponsel and Nick Michaud. You must demand MCAO drop all charges! #EndPoliticalProsecutions

You really think it's in the best interest of phoenix residents to defund the incredibly limited accountability we do have when cops are selling neo nazi merch? Go buy some "Good night left nut" t-shirts and challenge coins to fund the humanitarian program, I'm sure that's what those funds are earmarked for.

I find the director of human services' comment here concerning. This item is a misguided attempt to hide city intentions without accountability. City council and Mayor, you want to defund Police accountability but you won’t defund the police. It seems if you were appalled by the actions of Phoenix PD you would publicly denounce them and work to make them accountable.

We have a moral obligation to fully fund the homelessness plan AND civilian oversight.

Fund the OAT. Phoenix needs a fully funded Office of Accountability and Transparency to hold law enforcement accountable to the standards Phoenix residents deserve. Phoenix residents have overwhelmingly supported this office for months, and this effort to undermine our demands is outrageous and will not be tolerated.

If you want to protect the houselessness community you need to keep the cops accountable. OAT is necessary in protecting vunerable populations. This is outrageous that city council is still under the thumb of the PPD's terror and continually sweep their transgressions under the rug.

It should be clearer than ever to Mayor and Council that Phoenix needs a fully funded Office of Accountability and Transparency to hold law enforcement accountable to the standards they are sworn to. Phoenix residents have overwhelmingly supported this office for months, and this latest effort to undermine the demands of the people is outrageous. Fund the OAT.

It's absolutely outrageous that instead of acknowledging and taking action against the reprehensible and violent white supremacist culture of your police department, which has been exposed nationally again, you are looking to find another way to defund police accountability. There's no excuse at this point for not taking action. #DefundPhxPD and #EndPoliticalProsecutions
